@dosh444 @AikadoLoR My understanding is that parasitic mechanics are so because they only interact with themselves or cards that specifically reference said mechanic. It’s a closed system. Also they’ve printed tons commander cards and modern horizons that use energy outside the og energy block

@themagle @AikadoLoR Can't say anything about it being parasitic rn because we have no idea what is going to be introduced in set 4. Energy in magic was parasitic because it was in a single block (not necessarily Magics fault, just the way sets work out). Hopefully we see more XP mechanics in set 4+

@AikadoLoR Power level wise, it’ll be as strong as they print repeatable ways to get xp as the payoffs already seem pretty strong.

@AikadoLoR I dislike it. It’s yet another resource to track in a game that has quite a few already, also as a rule parasitic mechanics tend to lean to extremes on the balance scale. I would have strongly preferred that methods to get xp already existed within the game.

A real pat on the back for transparency here. I do think that power level wise nothing quite deserves a ban yet. Called shot is the closest and will need a ban at some point. The biggest sin in the game right now is just how long miracle turns are.

Back when I worked at an lgs and ran all the tcg tournaments, yugioh was the only game where I had to break up fights, call the police, kick ppl out for smelling bad, ban cheaters, and have to manage noise levels. Some people were okay, but man something about that game.

We’re going to have to deal with matrix ethics wayyy sooner than I thought. Like what if you made a game about swatting flies and hooked up the simulated brain to the flies in the game? Feels more cruel than killing normal flies. You could create a digital fly hell.

I've been reminded again now that we all are starting fresh that the big problem with A0 runs in Slay the Spire (both 1 and 2) is that by halfway through you know you've won and nothing matters.

Brought metal ornn to NN tonight, first playtest with tonights build. Went 1-2 but im happy with the data.

@scarra I’m in a similar boat :/ I tested a bunch of ornn and I just cannot make that deck good. I think Lucian is a trap, so really the options left are reksai, fiora, viktor or sett. If I had to pick one I’d say reksai, since I think viktor requires a lot of matchup knowledge
