Since so many of you were interested, I made this short practical guide on How to Read Theory using the Spiral Method! I hope this helps you feel confident enough to read some of the amazing books in the radical feminist political/philosophical canon docs.google.com/document/d/e/2…
downtoclown@themodernscream

I’ve noticed that some people on radfem twt don’t read as much theory as they want to and seem a little intimidated by it. — If I made some resources showing people how to work with complicated texts like these, would you be interested to use them?

I think drag as comedy is probably going to become pointless soon because, where is the joke in a 6’1 275 lb man saying he’s the most beautiful woman in the world? We see it happen in real life often and we’re asked to treat them seriously. How do the two coexist? I don’t see it.

I’ve never seen a male drag queen do Rosie O’Donnell, KD Lang, or Melissa Etheridge. They were/are internationally famous and had gay male fans. When women don’t perform femininity these men have nothing to mock. Yet, drag queens in Italy still doing Dionne Warwick in black face!

There are very few drag queens with discernible talent. There were a couple from ~50 years ago that used drag to do standup comedy when gay men could not do it mainstream. After that time period closed, there really became no excuse for it in American culture beyond woman hating.

Who else feels that drag is the lowest form of entertainment? Crude. Vulgar. Misogynistic. Hyper-sexualised. Debasing. Mind-numbing. Narcissistic.

I literally told a drag queen friend of mine that I think drag is the most misogynistic thing on planet Earth and he said yes and what about it? I’m sorry, but they make it really hard to not be homophobic. I all I get out of them is is I’m a woman hater and go fuck yourself.

Drag is not subversive. Misogyny is not subversive. Mocking women as a group is not subversive. Gay men guilt tripping you into letting them do whatever they want isn’t subversive. Being a door mat to get brownie points from people who marginalized themselves is not subversive.

@radfemgoals I think die hard leftists feel entitled to the total agreement of the people they think owe their rights to them. They get least offended when a white guy disagrees with them, more offended when gays/lesbians and black women do.

You guys have spent the last 10 years implying that Black women are “male-adjacent”, said we have male levels of testosterone, implied that our soft features are “masculine” (but magically become feminine when on an Asian woman), and y’all expect Black women to NOT be terfs?

I am terrible at relationships because, if you have a problem with me there are three options. 1) Get over it 2) Be quiet 3) Get away from me I’m not sorry, I don’t feel bad, I’m not changing, and I’m willing to be the villain in any and all stories. Okay. What now?

When you continuously position black women as a sacrificial buffer for every discourse surrounding trans women, resentment and growing intolerance toward your cause are bound to follow. This is the direct consequence of y’all’s misogynoiristic rhetoric.

“Good” men and “bad men” are the same guy with the same power doing the same thing in different contexts. A “good” man is still a reactionary bulldog, he just doesn’t bite YOUR hand. This is the material difference.
