As a T’ganu born and bred, it irks me when t’ganu people come back from Klang Valley for raya & post IG stories of beaches, non-stop fireworks with the quote ‘negeri paling bahagia.’ If it’s so bahagia, why’d y’all leave the state? Be honest,we all know the reality of living here

Terengganu’s MB drew criticism for saying happiness matters more than GDP, but the sentiment resonates with many in the state, who say they measure wealth differently – something outsiders “just don’t get”. My dispatch from Kuala Terengganu. straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/t…

Dulu aku tegur mamat NZ tu pasal cottage pie, hg guna video dia ka as reference? Video masakan melayu byk elok ja tp yg western memanjang ja ajar benda salah. Syarikat tu bayar duit suruh buat video leklok. If tak tau, berguru la dgn org yg tau.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Amat besar pengorbanan mereka. Ayuh! Kita sama-sama tekad dalam mengejar amal jariah di bulan mulia ini.
30 Days Sedekah Challenge ❤

FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION DOES NOT EXIST WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY: RIDING ON PLACES OF WORSHIPS TO CREATE RACIAL DISHARMONY IS DOWNRIGHT IRRESPONSIBLE
Freedom of expression does not exist without responsibility. While we celebrate our democratic right to speak, speech that sows discord and threatens the harmony of our multi-racial society cannot be disguised as activism. It is abuse and bullying.
As the ADUN for Buntong, I am compelled to address the increasingly aggressive narrative surrounding our places of worship. The deliberate use of the term "Kuil Haram" (Illegal Temple) by certain quarters is not only misleading but deeply hurtful. It frames houses of prayer as criminal entities, disregarding the sanctity they hold for devotees.
We must shift the conversation. We are dealing with "Kuil Tidak Berdaftar" (Unregistered Temples), an administrative issue that requires a human solution, not a hostile one.
I wish to address the current situation with the empathy and seriousness it deserves:
1. Rejection of Hostile Labels and Provocation
I strongly condemn the inflammatory rhetoric used by certain individuals and groups who seek to mobilize mass movements against these structures. Labeling places of worship as "Haram" acts as a dog whistle to incite hatred. It intimidates our elderly and families who find solace in these temples. Turning a land dispute into a racial or religious flashpoint is an irresponsible act that endangers the peace of our state.
2. The Need for Fairness in Enforcement
The community is feeling vulnerable. Despite numerous police reports lodged against those spreading this divisiveness, there is a perceived lack of action. This silence breeds anxiety. I appeal to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to uphold the law without fear or favor. We cannot allow a culture where any group feels emboldened to threaten the sanctuary of another without consequence. Please remember that many of these temples albeit not all have been in existence for decades and application for land approval have often been rejected without consultation.
3. Administrative Solutions by Local Authorities (PBT)
The management of unauthorized structures is a matter of town planning and land law, falling under the jurisdiction of the Local Authorities (PBT) and the State Government. It is not the domain of vigilante NGOs or pressure groups. I urge the PBT to exercise their duties based on established SOPs and not bow to external intimidation. Enforcement must be tempered with discretion and humanity.
In Perak, I wish to record my appreciation to the Land Office, especially PTG and the PBT, for their understanding and proactive engagement with YB Dato’ Sivanesan in his capacity as EXCO, which enabled these issues to be resolved amicably.
4. A Compassionate, Balanced Way Forward
My commitment is to a constructive solution that upholds both community welfare and the law. Many of these temples in Buntong and Perak have existed for decades, often pre-dating current land enactments. However, we must also be realistic and principled:
- Legalization: Where land status permits, we must assist in regularizing these sites.
- Relocation: If relocation is necessary for public interest, it must be done with dignity, ensuring a suitable alternative site is provided first.
- Adherence to the Rule of Law: We must also acknowledge that if a structure is found to be built in clear violation of the law, obstructing public infrastructure or safety and cannot be legalized or relocated, we must respect the due process of the law, which may include removal.
I ask the people to remain calm and not be drawn into the trap of reacting to these provocations. I stand with you, and I will continue to defend the rights of our community to practice our faith with dignity, while upholding the laws of our country.
However, we must also be mindful that no one is above the law. The construction of temples, like all other developments, must comply with existing laws.
