Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s key directions during the traffic and road safety review: “ Set up a dedicated Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau to oversee traffic regulation and road safety. Develop the Bureau’s organizational structure after conducting a comprehensive study. Review traffic management measures every 2 to 3 months. Focus more on efficient traffic management than merely enforcing rules. Prepare traffic management plans based on weather conditions, working hours, peak traffic periods, and local travel patterns. Conduct traffic impact studies before creating new infrastructure projects. Take preventive measures to reduce accidents on the Outer Ring Road (ORR). Ensure continuous monitoring to prevent vehicles from parking indiscriminately on the ORR. Build underpasses and elevated corridors wherever necessary to move towards a signal-free city. Ensure smooth vehicle movement at traffic signals and minimize unnecessary stoppages wherever feasible.”
