Deadly shootout in Northern California after officers apparently failed to properly search a suspect before placing him in the front seat of his cruiser.
Mt. Shasta Police Department and Weed Police Department released body cam footage showing the incident that happened on March 21, 2026, during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 near the north Weed off-ramp.
An officer pulled over a car traveling northbound at the north Weed off-ramp for multiple violations, including excessive window tint and an unsafe lane change. The officer called for help with a K-9 drug sniff, and a Mt.
Shasta police officer responded to assist.
During the search, the Weed officer found a large amount of suspected methamphetamine hidden in a stereo speaker box. As the officer approached the man, who was sitting in front of the patrol car, the man pulled out a gun from his waist and pointed it at the officer.
The officer then shot the man. Medical help was provided at the scene, and the man was taken to Dignity Mt. Shasta for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.

ALERT: Fairfield police officer who punched a student has been reassigned after a new video surfaced showing her dragging an 18-year-old out of her car by her hair during a traffic stop.
Officer Bianca Camacho was seen punching a student, Maurice Williams, on the ground after he was involved in a fight at Fairfield High School.
Myah Hamilton has come out and said, “The same thing that happened to that poor boy happened to me.”
Hamilton was pulled over about a year ago for speeding and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Camacho then arrested Hamilton by dragging her out of her vehicle by her hair.
Hamilton's criminal case is still pending, and amid the most recent controversy involving Williams, Camacho has been administratively reassigned.
Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall said, “The officer has been administratively reassigned in the department as we navigate this emotional and challenging time.”

Cops showed up because a neighbor assumed Zebulon’s gunshots were illegal, even without seeing anything. They took his gun anyway, demanded ID, and dismissed his Fourth Amendment rights on his own property.

This story is a little older, but the Grandfather shot his grandson in the chest because he wouldn't leave the house.
He then called 911 to let them know he shot him, and needed an ambulance.
He killed his 19 year old grandson...
Crazy times...
This guy had a meltdown in the airport, as he was told he couldn't board the plane.
He went irate, which ended up Involving the cops. It appears this was all due to him being drunk, which his argument is why sell drinks at an airport....
So, Instead of him calming down, he gets even more irate, leading to him being arrested.
Most people would just put out the fire. This guy chose a different path.
A police officer arrives at a field to address an unauthorized open fire. The officer informs the individual that they are in violation of local village ordinances and must extinguish the fire and leave the property.
The individual is highly non-compliant, refusing to follow the officer's commands, claiming ownership of the land, and repeatedly citing "constitutional rights" while refusing to cooperate.
As the interaction progresses, the individual reaches into a bag. The officer, perceiving a threat that the bag may contain a weapon, draws their service firearm and orders the individual to keep their hands visible.
A tense standoff ensues where the officer repeatedly attempts to de-escalate by ordering the individual to walk toward them and move away from the fire. The individual continues to argue, claiming they are hard of hearing and refusing to comply, leading the officer to keep them at gunpoint while awaiting backup.
The video concludes with the officer maintaining distance and control of the scene until backup arrives to assist in securing the individual and the scene.
The suspect was charged with resisting/obstructing, felony battery or threats to law enforcement, and disorderly conduct. He later took a plea deal, pleading no contest to resisting/obstructing and disordely conduct. The battery or threats to law enforcement charge was dismissed. He was ordered to pay $504.50.
