Memories in both ChatGPT and Codex are godsend! It allows them to contextualise and hyper specialise outputs and generations to you and your “taste”
I’m often amazed by how Codex would just know tiny details of which tests to run, what commit dynamics it should follow and how to design things based on my preferences - just because it learns from all your past sessions
10/10 would recommend enabling!

Memory in ChatGPT has gotten INSANELY good and nobody is talking about it. It shocks me daily.
English

GPT models lack taste, we can see it instantly when it’s generating frontends but not only, things like ideas I prefer for Claude still. Also lacks personality, it is way better with 5.5 but not as natural as Sonnet or Opus who have something in particular, they are very human like.
Making 5.5 speak exactly like me is not possible yet though Claude is way better at this

A big launch is being prepared by @OpenAI. This post is from a Codex engineer. What could he be referring to? Maybe it's about the upcoming new "voice mode" for ChatGPT though. It would fit with the "reinventing personal computing" narrative.

here on codex we really love thursdays
Alexander Embiricos@embirico
The Thursdays continue! Today: Codex Chrome extension Codex could already use Chrome via Computer Use, but it took over your browser and could only work on one tab at a time. Today unlocks speed & parallelism: Multiple agents/subagents, multiple tabs. It's magical to watch ✨
English

@Dimillian Hey Thomas!
Since you work for OpenAI, from France, how do you access stuff like this, memories, proactivity, Computer use and all those very nice stuff?
English

Codex tabs in Chrome… not in Europe nor UK again..
OpenAI@OpenAI
Codex now works directly in Chrome on macOS and Windows. It’s even better at working with apps and sites in Chrome, and now works in parallel across tabs in the background without taking over your browser. To get started, install the Chrome plugin in the Codex app.

Not only for coding but imagine being able to actually control your computer from your phone, connect to all the context and the apps and everything you already have.
To me, it’s huge..
Imagine, not even for work related, go grab my cv that is on my computer and sent it to X on gmail.
While not being home, go on my gaming computer and go download Y on Steam.

sounds like we are getting the codex mobile app today
this is massive
very exciting times

@aidan_mclau @pigeon__s you’ve got to try Claude (sonnet or opus), it is very natural and very human in the way it speaks
Even when I try to make 5.5T talk like young people as if it was by messages, it is cringy and not natural.
Though Claude crushes this test.

@ajambrosino Codex app is so good, great job to the team
Fun idea feature: click on the pet and be able to give him new tasks by clicking on it and talking
If it could see screen somehow, would be even better to give it with prompt
