ಸುಮಾರು ಸಾವಿರದ ಮುನ್ನೂರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿ, ಗಿನ್ನೆಸ್ ದಾಖಲೆ ಸೇರಿದ, ತೆಲುಗಿನ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಹಾಸ್ಯನಟ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾನಂದಂ ಅವರು ತೆಲುಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದ ಆತ್ಮಕಥೆಯ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಅವತರಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಓದಿ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುವಾದಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು ಎನಿಸಿತು. ನಾನು ತೆಲುಗು ಮಾತಾಡಲಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾನಂದಂ ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟದ ನಟ. ತಾರಾಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿದ್ದಾರೆಂಬ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ನಟಿಸಿದ ನೂರಾರು ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವನು. ಆ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡವನು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುವಾದಿಸಿ, ನಮ್ಮ 'ವಿಶ್ವವಾಣಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕ' ಪ್ರಕಾಶನದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾನಂದಂ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಿದರು. ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕನಾಗಿದ್ದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಪರಿ ಅದ್ಭುತ. ಬಣ್ಣದ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ, ಆದರೆ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಲೋಕದ ಮೇರು ಕಲಾವಿದನೊಬ್ಬನ ಅಂತರಂಗದ ಮಿಡಿತ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಗಾಢವಾಗಿ ಆವರಿಸಿತು. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾನಂದಂ ಅವರ ಬದುಕು ಕೇವಲ ಒಬ್ಬ ನಟನ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಒಬ್ಬ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಲಾವಿದ ಮತ್ತು ಒಬ್ಬ ತತ್ವಜ್ಞಾನಿಯ ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ಪಯಣದ ಕೈಫಿಯತ್ತು. "ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾನಂದಂ" ಪುಸ್ತಕ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡು, ನಿನ್ನೆ ತಾನೇ ಗರಿಗರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಚ್ಚಿನಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರ ಬಂದಿತು. ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರತಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರ ಕೈಸೇರಿದ್ದು ನನಗೆ 'ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾನಂದ'!
