dont take my word as law but i think pushing for failure is best when you are new, as long as ur form stays intact. u will progress pretty fast while you are new if you keep pushing yourself. like if you can do a weight for more than 12 reps, still push that set to failure. but for ur next set it is safe to say that you can up the weight. now if u can that weight for 6-8 reps keep doing it until you can do it for 12+. repeat then in the future once u learn what true failure is u can worry about RIR of u want to (reps in reserve). i hope that makes sense 😭

to all my oomfs who work out: do you guys do reps until failure or do you stick to a fixed amount of reps within each given set even if you feel you can do more? just wanted to ask so I can figure out what would be better for me

@theonlytruecel yeah but its super hard to get out if it looks like shit lmaooo. at least the upkeep is easier than bleach. don’t get me wrong there IS a shit ton of upkeep but u don’t have to worry about bands and bleach developing at different rates etc
