What’s the goto mtb shorts these days? And cheap? Endura seem to be not cheap and also the big phone pocket at the back has gone on the new hummvee shorts, oddly my current pair has spilt at the back of said pocket… @Absolutemtb1 @UKMTB_Chat

@DudeAdhd @cierzo1 Thug is such an apt term. I remember the shock when I began to debate neutrally on the trad ideology and the online attacks that came my way. It was disgraceful. The group of ****s are still blocked.

The most respected school leaders I know working in these communities aren't asking Ofsted to lower the bar. They're asking for a system that measures what they can actually influence and recognises the extraordinary work being done against the odds. tes.com/magazine/news/…

‘Well done, new headteacher for working so hard with your staff to completely transform this failing school. Have a pat on the head while we mark you down for your historic low outcomes’. Yeah, thanks.

The future of education is clear. Teacher gets AI to design and deliver the curriculum .. videos and assignments. Students get AI to process the videos and complete the assignments. Teacher gets AI to assess and give feedback on the assignments. Feet up + jelly heads all round.

Army and RAF cadets enjoyed an incredible day at The Tank Museum — exploring armoured history, seeing iconic vehicles up close, and learning about the evolution of warfare. 💥 A great mix of education, teamwork & inspiration! 👏 #TorquayAcademyCCF #CadetLife #TankMuseum

@MathsNot @Mathematical_A @p_glaister As a positive it may see a return to able year 13s who didn’t start further maths picking up the AS for a love of the subject and improving their knowledge and abilities. A small positive but a positive none the less.

Good to see a current version of this ever-popular table (thanks Matt Man). You can assume, though, that many of the 9/A* students also took Further Maths
Matt Man@mr_man_maths

After going to the "Exam Insights Summer 2025" CPD session by Pearson Edexcel, it made me think of the below questions. We'll discuss this at the start of my workshop on "Moving 'em up to the next grade!" for #ALevelMaths #MathsConf39 @LaSalleEd

People are always asking "Is there a scientific calculator for visually impaired students?" Yes, there is, and I have just done a review At around £600, it's not cheap, but it does everything needed for GCSE Full details and manual at: dropbox.com/scl/fo/1w5olxj…

Huge shout out to @PetplanUK who never queried a single claim I've made despite claiming far more than I've paid in premiums over the years. They always pay out within a couple of days. As a final act of compassion they waived my excess on my euthanasia claim for my boy Huxley.

I think “Russell Group” is a poor proxy, and I don’t think it’s the only thing that matters, but the quality of a degree is important - deep, broad, accurate, confident, enthusiastic subject knowledge makes a huge difference to a teacher and is surprisingly rare.
Tom Rogers@RogersHistory

As Teachfirst plans to drop it's Russell Group uni requirements, I say - Good! The idea that having a certain level of degree or going to a certain uni is likely to make you a better or more elite teacher doesn't translate to reality. In my experience, you can be as smart as you like and have zero concept of how to relate to young ppl in classroom contexts. I think it's a myth that based your IQ, degree level or place of study, that it's much more likely you will be a good teacher. Maybe someone like @dylanwiliam can shed more light on this though. The fact TF are now talking about 'commitment to teaching' as key prob relates to the fact more TF'ers move onto other things relatively quickly compared to other training routes. Nevertheless, as much as I agree with changing this, it won't change the general attrition rates in teaching (in England esp) until more drastic things change.
