When I moved to Canada, I did a one year program that cost me about N20m when converted. I had no plans on doing a second program that would have guaranteed me 3 year of Post Graduate Work Permit. I was limited to just one year, after which the only option was to come back to Nigeria and continue my life where I stopped. Even at that, I didn't want to just "waste" my Work Permit doing menial jobs, I wanted to do a job in my Marketing and Communications field. I had all the experience from Nigeria in my fields, but I was met with the reality of Canadian Work experience demands at every job I had applied for. I started applying for jobs and doing interviews from my second semester, so I put in the work. Though I wasn't getting and job, I was getting familiarized with Interview routines and also sharpening my oratory skills to be more audible. Of course, I was always praying daily for a job. Some rejections were because I was still on a study permit, so I couldn't do full time. Others were because; though I aced interviews, some to the second stage, I fell short when it was time to choose a candidate, because I had no Canadian experience, and others did. Fast forward to when it was about 2 weeks to the end of my Study permit, my prayer changed. The mode of it, the specificity of it and all. I put a time line to the prayer. My study permit was to expire on the 31st of March, 2023. So I told God, I want a full time job in my field before the 31st of March, 2023. A job I had done two interviews, the last one being in February, 2023; reached out to me on the 30th of March, a day to the end of my Study Permit, telling me I had been employed. For the first time in a very long time, I believed again, and I held on to that miracle, using it as a reminder for God at every step of the way I went, till I got my PR.

Be completely honest. Has prayer ever genuinely 'worked' for you?

2025 wrapped: • Became an O-1 visa recipient for extraordinary ability. • Earned my second promotion at Microsoft at my 2.5 year mark. • Spoke at Cowrywise to an audience of over 500 people. • Had my first national news interview on Arise News where I spoke about how AI will impact Nigeria’s economy. • Bought my first-ever business class flight for my first trip home in 6 years. • Created my dream home in my apartment. • Spoke at the closing ceremony of Morgan State University WICS (Women in Computer Science). + did and accomplished so many more things! God has been truly faithful to me ❤️ p.s. the full post is on Instagram: instagram.com/p/DTazcO4DHHm/…

@kenei_brian @ossynoya Uhm! Maybe. From my experience working in AI for healthcare/Biotech, it is so difficult to source data in Europe. Too much explanation. I think that is why AI growth in Europe isn’t as fast as America.

@Steadi_lady @dofficial_vela I don’t think this information is entirely true. Depending on your course/profession, a business school doesn’t matter to you. If you are in a STEM field, there are lots of English taught Masters programs in government Unis and almost all the PhDs are in English

@dofficial_vela If you want to go to a good school, it’s expensive. The govt schools are cheaper but most classes are in French. Also note that they prioritize business schools more.

While in Benue, I met with dozens of Christians who were driven from their homes and subjected to horrific violence and now live in IDP camps. They told harrowing stories that will remain with me for the rest of my life. One woman was forced to watch as they killed her husband and five children. She, and her unborn child, barely escaped. Another woman’s family was murdered in front of her and her baby was ripped from her womb. One man’s family was hacked to death in front of his eyes and his armed was permanently mangled. There are more than 600,000 Christians in IDP camps in Benue State alone. These Christians should be able to live in their ancestral homeland without fear of genocidal Fulani.

@TheHN1C Funny enough I ate snake meat at my Aunt’s house and asked for more and a week later I was arguing with her that I had never eaten snake before. Everybody burst laugh 😩😩. I think our imaginations are the major reasons we don’t eat/try a lot of things

@oyinbby_ I think everyone needs to work in a sane Team and feel the difference. Unfortunately, most Nigerian companies demand your life even though they don’t offer so much in return.

@oyinbby_ I actually had this work life in Nigeria. My manager can call you on weekends. When I moved to France, I pushed a docker 1am on Saturday. My manager cut me warning on Monday 😩. She told me to off my computer after work and remove Teams from my phone.
