@QuanquanGu @AirCanada Early this month, AC kicked me out of the aircraft despite arriving first at the airport since they oversold the tickets. Initially, they told me I should have priority as I need to catch another flight to Dubai - but they kicked me out last minute!

Had a very unpleasant experience with @AirCanada on my way back to LA. For AC560 (Vancouver to LA, Dec 15, 2024), the gate agents asked me to wait and did not assign me a seat until the very end of the boarding process, making me literally the last person to rush to board, without providing any specific reason for the delay. Meanwhile, passengers in similar situations who arrived at the gate around the same time were assigned seats before preboarding even started. Despite my attempts to understand why I was the only one not assigned a seat, the only response I received was that my seat was guaranteed, but I needed to board last. The lack of clear communication and the apparent difference in treatment felt unfair and possibly intentional. I’ve never encountered such a situation with any other airline, and I expect an explanation for this unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant experience.

@hbouammar In my experience, non-Western students are terrible at academic integrity. This needs to be called out for the good of the scientific endeavour. Doing it in a public presentation like this isn't the right way though. But if it embarrasses Chinese students enough it might work.

Rosalind Picard made gross racist comments at NeurIPS 2024. we urge #mit and the #us Department of Education to investigate her and her claim. there is no place for rasicts in #ml and #ai. don't stop sharing this! help exposure! we need her investigated!

Mitigating racial bias from LLMs is a lot easier than removing it from humans! Can’t believe this happened at the best AI conference @NeurIPSConf We have ethical reviews for authors, but missed it for invited speakers? 😡

Using racial labels to describe misconduct is harmful and inappropriate. @NeurIPSConf must not condone speech that targets specific ethnic groups. We urge Rosalind Picard @MIT @medialab to retract and apologize for her statement. Btw, most Rosalinds I know are honest and morally upright. I hope this is an exception :)

All grad classes should be pass/fail for a PhD student in computer science. The whole grades thing just distracts people
