@MarvelRivals Did you fix a new issue on the new map? I was playing Rocket Racoon and couldn't escape the prison as the G key option wasn't appearing onscreen. I had to swap heroes to get out but only realized that after taking an AFK penalty. Not fun.

@HankRearden_37 @Snowden Same! I had my dual 1080Tis until 2023. The still run great and I keep it as a backup. Upgraded to the 4090 but won't be upgrading for a while.

@Snowden Nothing will top the 1080Ti for value, i still think they made that card by mistake, because it was too good to be true. I had that in my rig from 2017 to 2023 before finally upgrading. Card still lives on in my nephew's PC.

Endless next-quarter thinking has reduced the Nvidia brand to "F-tier value for S-tier prices". 5070 should have had 16GB VRAM minimum, 5080 w 24/32 SKUs, 5090 32/48/+. Releasing a $1,000+ GPU in 2025 with a crippling 16GB is a monopolistic crime against the consumer.

Learning something new is always a challenge, and I’ve definitely hit my share of roadblocks while getting to grips with @Blender. @therustedpixel @scanamatics Yes, for example, I had a character that needed to project shadow in a box, but at the same time, I needed it alone in a separate render pass for comping. I used one collection where it was masked and just shadow cast and another where it was alone and everything else was hidden.

Couple of questions for Blender users. What is a collection? Is it like a null? How do you create new collections? Can they be nested to keep things tidy? Also what is the window called? In C4D it's the Object Manager. I think I heard someone call it the Outliner.

@davegamez @scanamatics Cool thanka for that. So it's it almost like a Venn diagram. Where some objects can belong to more than one collection?

@therustedpixel @scanamatics Yes, a bit weird for C4D users at first, but you’ll get used to it quickly. You can tick on/off a collection and everything inside there will be hidden. And the equivalent of a null is an “Empty” object.

@scanamatics That's crazy, the same object can be in different collections then?

@therustedpixel Think of it as a layer in c4d but the same objects can be on multiple layers or collections

@joe_walker Thanks for the heads up with your experience mate. I jumped on their Black Friday deals and updated a really old perpetual license I had with them to a more up to date one for a pretty good price. So I'm giving it a try.

I’ve been moving away from XP to embrace the native C4D system. XP was always overkill for what I’m trying to do. By the time I get my brain around the native system, I expect fluid solving to be implemented. XP is incredibly powerful, by their pricing is a little ridiculous, considering they rarely update it, the Mac installer is a nightmare, and it always caused instability and bloated Cinema a good bit on launch. Good luck, though!

Studying X-Particles to add some stylized effects to my personal work next year. It's been a while since I've injected something new into my own work. Got lots of ideas for puffy, animated shrubs and trees outside stylized houses.

@therustedpixel @MaxonVFX Looks like you're using a custom layout. That palette is part of the layout and unfortunately we don't have a mechanism to reconcile layout changes and add the new stuff dynamically into your custom layout. So new commands don't get included - you'll need to update your layout.

@muhamaddk13 I think this is just a single HDRI image from MrHDRI. I then used a single area with a blue tint. I didn't go too overboard worrying about the lighting as it's just an exploration piece. I wasn't too concerned about the final piece, more about having fun exploring looks.

@therustedpixel I really wondering how people really good at this, i mean i try every single tutorial to make texture or maybe see many thing how to setup lighting but never closed to like this one. I really jealous about it. But great job! Really love the color
