Today’s reality is that AAP is out of power in Delhi. Its top leaders have exited the party. Kejriwal’s PR machinery is in terrible shape, and his biggest cheerleader, Dhruv Rathee, has failed to salvage it. This social media experiment called ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ is AAP’s second political project, hoping to give a second lifeline to the party’s top brass. Over the years, I understood one thing – Social media followers and likes do not translate to votes. Instagram does not determine the political opinion of the majority of people in this country. If it did, we would probably have had an unhinged left-liberal government at the Centre and in different States. But, we don’t.
