@thetechprepper1 That explains the uptick in notifications I've received. Honestly, YT Shorts are easier to consume during brief lulls, longer videos take planned downtime to watch.

@CMcKayFL The barbed wire fence was more of an open circle with the counterpoise coming off like a tail. Almost like a cartoon message bubble. I am going to film the full video this Saturday. More details coming.

@thetechprepper1 I kinda suspected the perpendicular would be the better route, but I was waiting on your test to see if my theory was valid. Out of curiosity: was your counterpoise pointed away from that 40m station you were trying to contact? If not, add aimed/unaimed into your field test.

@thetechprepper1 I'm curious to see how it performs, especially with differences in counterpoise placement. Unless you find an end of a strand, you're going to be connected off-center or close to center. Do you then run the counterpoise parallel to the strand, or perpendicular?

@GrafixBorn I've been running the Haley Strategic D3CRM for years. Mine has taken a beating as I use mine 5-6 times per week, but it is still in one piece. It has made several appearances on the YT channel. Cheers!

@GrafixBorn Nicely done. These Altoids tins are great for storing misc connectors and repair gear. I have one for each manpack. I also carry one in my pack. The trick is not forgetting to restock the components if you borrow them for a project.
