@TylerLaFrance Context matters. He lost a top 5 pick to injury. I'd have given him at least one more year, if not two. He had two 5 star recruits coming in. There was reason to be hopeful. All the while you'd be giving Marcus Paige another season or two to mature. There's no obvious candidates.

Already know I’ll be shocked at this UNC hire because I don’t see them landing any of the big names being floated. So I’ll offer this dark horse right now: Marcus Paige. He’s only a couple years younger than Scheyer was and rumor is he’s every player’s favorite assistant

@Clayton772962 @Joe_Fann Oh so about the same or better as 350 other D1 programs who haven’t won in the last 28 years? 14 programs have won since 1999. It’s a pretty outstanding accomplishment to be among the 30 or so programs who have even made a title game in that time. Which the Zags have done twice

Shout out to Graham Ike. He came to Gonzaga when the perimeter talent dipped quite a bit and kept the program afloat. Didn’t play with a single top 50 NBA draft pick* in 3 years and raised the floor of the team in a huge way. *probably did this year but as a freshman

If the only way you can find joy in college basketball is winning a national title, you have no business watching the sport. Gonzaga has had like 4 (maybe 5) teams actually capable of winning a championship in their 30 year run. Plenty of joy has still been had in all 30.

So Gonzaga is not going to win a National Championship are they? 27 straight NCAA'S no joy. Only Tom Izzo at Michigan St has a longer streak at 28 BTW Michigan St has only won 1 during that stretch
