TVS is considered the holy grail of metrics for oracle projects. This is a thread I've been wanting to make for a while about TVS and oracles 🧵⤵️ 1/15

Deposits into API3 curated vaults are safe. None of our vaults have any rsETH exposure. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we hope for a quick resolution.

There's a reason we don't support unproven cefi stablecoins in our vaults, or for our price feeds. We provide defi native yield, for defi users, that isn't exposed to this kind of problem
Api3@Api3DAO

$50M unbacked USR minted. Price nuked. The underlying Morpho Market has USR hardcoded at $1. LPs wrecked. We have ZERO exposure to anything Resolv related. Not because we managed to pull out in time, but because we never allocated to anything USR related to begin with.

What does it actually take to create a money market? Not simply listing a token. Actually creating a functioning market where people borrow and lend against a new asset. It's harder than you think. 🧵

Swapping $50m? On a fee charging frontend interface? Without checking slippage? On my phone? Why yes I did

Stani@StaniKulechov

Earlier today, a user attempted to buy AAVE using $50M USDT through the Aave interface. Given the unusually large size of the single order, the Aave interface, like most trading interfaces, warned the user about extraordinary slippage and required confirmation via a checkbox. The user confirmed the warning on their mobile device and proceeded with the swap, accepting the high slippage, which ultimately resulted in receiving only 324 AAVE in return. The transaction could not be moved forward without the user explicitly accepting the risk through the confirmation checkbox. The CoW Swap routers functioned as intended, and the integration followed standard industry practices. However, while the user was able to proceed with the swap, the final outcome was clearly far from optimal. Events like this do occur in DeFi, but the scale of this transaction was significantly larger than what is typically seen in the space. We sympathize with the user and will try to make a contact with the user and we will return $600K in fees collected from the transaction. The key takeaway is that while DeFi should remain open and permissionless, allowing users to perform transactions freely, there are additional guardrails the industry can build to better protect users. Our team will be investigating ways to improve these safeguards going forward.

@dappfiddler From the probable owner of the wallets that voted against it it was clear there would be no second chance. Again, I encourage you to look

@thevet its about your reaction to loosing the bid that matters. If you had accepted it and maybe tried agian, that would have been the answer. Maybe the people that voted againt it, knew what they would be getting.

@dappfiddler If the Api3 proposal for the feeds on Base and Optimism had passed, none of the exploits since would have happened. Look into which wallets voted against it and decide where to place the blame
