Junior's got himself a job, been doing it a couple of weeks. The transformation is amazing. He seems so much happier, more self confident. It's amazing what giving someone with #autism and learning difficulties a bit of trust, belief and encouragement can do.

@OhNoItsSteve That's a scary scene if you are under 19 or if you have a pre-existing condition at any other age!

@OhNoItsSteve I have plenty of pages still to post, if needed. Plus a whole other book from 1953. Thank you for your kind wishes. All the best to you and yours!

@theviewmaster Year 2 Day 104 Gadget of the Day 2021 Use the pages of the 1955 Gadget of the Day book to make face masks. Take three pages together, and make elastic loops at ether side. You have 3 weeks to stockpile sufficient masks for when they are required by law again. Stay Safe, Dave.

Year 2 Day 104 Gadget of the Day 1955 So, this is, the last Gadget of the Day post! I always planned to stop after the lifting of restrictions and that's where we are now. I hope that you have enjoyed them. I hope NOT to be back! #gadgets #recycle #simplepleasures #dailygadget

Year 2 Day 103 Gadget of the Day 1955 I looked at this as I was scanning it and I thought of the Ladybird book of Wires, Lamps and Batteries. I loved that book. It was full of projects like this. I think I might try it again now... #gadgets #recycle #simplepleasures #dailygadget

Year 2 Day 102 Gadget of the Day 1955 Ecology and conservation in 1955 - or is it simply Economics? Now we know where our shillings go we can be more careful to save the pennies! Get tyres with less grip, cool and exhaust less too. #gadgets #recycle #simplepleasures #dailygadget

Year 2 Day 101 Gadget of the Day 1955 The Editor wants us to be clean, if today's tips are anything to go by! My aluminium saucepans are long gone - because they were so hard to clean. Rusty tools is another matter. Will try this! #gadgets #recycle #simplepleasures #dailygadget

Year 2 Day 100 Gadget of the Day 1955 Glass table tops were a rarity in the 1950s and quite a-la-mode. They were still popular in the 1970s but nobody was making their own by then and they usually had chrome legs. Have a go at this! #gadgets #recycle #simplepleasures #dailygadget

Year 2 Day 99 Gadget of the Day 1955 Deluxe Draughtsmen, the concept is hard to resist but the method looks rather too complex for a simple human like me with no real metal mangling skills. Played draughts for hours as a child! #gadgets #recycle #simplepleasures #dailygadget

@theviewmaster You can fashion a saw from a coathanger and barbed wire. Simply tie the wire taut around the ends using a closed hitch knot. If you can't find barbed wire, tie glass shards to a fishing line. An old rag soaked in paraffin can be used as a temporary dressing on any finger cuts.

Year 2 Day 98 Gadget of the Day 1955 Now that we have a Notch Cutter, see earlier gadget, we can notch wood to make it bendy. I actually think that you might need a saw for this one but what do I know? Either way, rounded wood! #gadgets #recycle #simplepleasures #dailygadget
