Women have the right not to undress in front of men at work. Twenty years ago, that sentence would have been a statement of such obviousness that people would have laughed at you for saying it aloud. Now it's a matter for celebration. Congratulations, you heroines 🎉😘👏

Bear with me here, but it's almost as though girls and women who want female-only spaces aren't scaremongering, hysterical, lying bigots after all. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/12/0…

Answer: it helps girls. It tells girls they have the right to things of their own. It tells girls they have the right to say 'no'. It reminds girls that the desires of boys do not supersede their feelings, their rights, their discomfort or their safety.
nyara@nyaraVT

Serious question.. who does this help? Literally excluding young girls from activities just because they're trans. This is only contributing to the mental health issues that trans people face due to being ostracised.

I am told that as a state representative this is the moment where I'm supposed to express my heartfelt condolences and then stand in solidarity with those on the other side of the aisle as we condemn political violence and stand unified as one people. But we aren't "one people" are we? The truth is we haven't been for some time now, and there is really no point in pretending anymore, if there ever was. We are two very different peoples. We may occupy the same piece of geography, but that is where the similarities seem to abruptly end. I convinced myself for a long time that whenever the left called me a racist, a bigot, a sexist, a fascist, a "threat to democracy" for even the most innocent of disagreements, that it was simply hyperbolic rhetoric done for effect. And now the "effect" is a widow and two orphaned children, because the left couldn’t bear the thought of a peaceful man debating them and winning. I don’t think they realize it yet, but murdering Charlie is going to be remembered as the day where we finally woke up to what this fight really is. It’s not a civil dispute among fellow countrymen. It’s a war between diametrically opposed worldviews which cannot peacefully coexist with one another. One side will win, and one side will lose. Charlie tried to win that fight through argumentation, through discussion, through peaceful resolution of differences. And the other side murdered him. Not because he was “extreme” or “inciting violence” or any other hyperbolic slur they hurled at him. They murdered him because he was effective. Because he was unafraid. Because he inspired others and made them feel like they had a voice, that they were not alone. And he did it at the very institutions which have fomented so much hatred toward conservatives. I don’t want to “stand in solidarity” with the other side of the aisle. I want to defeat you. I want to defeat the godless ideology that kills babies in the womb, sterilizes confused children, turns our cities into cesspools of degeneracy and lawlessness…and that murdered Charlie Kirk. Social media is aflame right now with leftist celebration of Charlie’s death. I wonder if any among them understand what has just happened. If there is a Yamamoto somewhere in their midst warning, that all they have done is awoken a sleeping giant. I doubt it. I think they gave up such introspection and self-awareness long ago. I don’t know exactly what will happen next. I just know that it won’t be the same as what has happened in the past. There will be thoughts and prayers…Charlie would have wanted prayers. Not for himself but for those left behind and for the country that he loved. But then there will be a reckoning. My Christian faith requires me to love my enemies and pray for those who curse me. It does not require me to stand idly by in the midst of savagery and barbarism...quite the opposite. So every time I feel tired, every time I feel discouraged or overwhelmed, I am going to watch the video of a good man being murdered in Utah…I will force myself to watch it…and then I will return to the work of destroying the evil ideology responsible for that and so much more. Rest with God Charlie, your fight is over. Ours is just beginning.

Janice isn't claiming to speak for all women, @PennyRed, but given that you aren't one ('the category of "woman" does not fully describe my lived experience') it's hard to see why you should be speaking for any women at all. Literally nobody thinks the Supreme Court ruling 'legislates trans people out of existence.' Trans people have exactly the same rights and protections they had before the ruling, and unless they've mass combusted while I wasn't paying attention, I'm fairly sure they continue to exist. If some trans-identified people in the UK are currently experiencing rage and disappointment because the Supreme Court clarified that they don't have rights they believed they had, the responsibility lies firmly with activist groups and sections of the media who've persistently argued, falsely, that gender transition turned a person into the opposite sex for all practical purposes in the eyes of the law. You can personally take some responsibility for that state of affairs, of course, because you've spent the last few years enthusiastically championing the removal of single-sex spaces for women and girls. Indeed, you went so far as to tell the mother of a fifteen-year-old who asked how her daughter was supposed to feel on discovering a penised stranger in the girls' changing rooms, 'I'd tell her it's rude to stare at other people's genitals.' That anti-woman, anti-safeguarding quip puts you right up there with every male creep who's spent recent years insisting women and girls have no right to privacy, dignity or safety. You'll undoubtedly continue to offer your contributions to the debate, but don't be too surprised if a lot of old-school women (the boring kind who've been deprived of the fascinating experiences that make you non-binary and genderqueer) find it supremely easy to disregard anything you've got to say on the subject.
Laurie Penny@PennyRed

Turner doesn’t speak for all women, and certainly not for all feminists. TERFs seem to think this ruling legislates trans people out of existence. It does not. Trans people will continue to exist. They will continue to deserve dignity and human rights. How is this ‘over’?

18 y/o male describes what life is like as a young man who was put on puberty blockers at a young age, and put on female hormones by 14, and it's just as devastating as you might think. He "came out" as trans at age 7 (in other words, his Munchausen mother forced it on him for her own social clout) and due to his puberty being blocked his body never developed past Tanner Stage 2 (the stage just before puberty, roughly around 11-12 y/o). He is 5'3, wears a size 5 shoe and has "extremely underdeveloped" genitals. He has breasts that will require surgery to remove, and he almost certainly has not had proper development in ANY aspect of his life, not physical, not social, not emotional, and not psychological. For all intents and purposes, he is an adult permanently trapped in the body of an 11 y/o boy, in a state of permanently arrested social/emotional/psychological development. And as you're pondering the horrors of that, ask yourself this: who benefits from creating a generation of adults forever stuck inside of a child's body? What kind of person would push for such an outcome? And while you're pondering that, ask yourself if it's a coincidence that this is the outcome of an ideology invented by p€dophile academics - such as Michel Foucault and John Money - whose body of work seem to be entirely about developing theories and ideas designed to make it more socially acceptable for adults to f*** children. This is Trans. This is the thing that is being pushed on kids all over the West, that the woke far left cultists have convinced us is a legitimate progressive civil rights movement. It is l a child mutilation cult masquerading as a civil rights movement. It teaches our children to hate themselves and their bodies, and that in order to be their "Most Authentic Self ™" they must cut off their healthy body parts and take huge doses of exogenous hormones that will sterilize them and cause them a lifetime of mental and physical health problems, permanently tethered to Big Pharma and reliant on drugs, hormones, and surgeries for the rest of their natural lives. And they told us this was "lifesaving care" 🙄🤷🏼‍♂️

I keep thinking about the Unison ‘trans women are women’ successful vote yesterday. From the ages of 16-20 I was a part-time checkout operator at Tesco. If I had to change into my uniform I had to strip down to my underwear in a changing room like this one, only much smaller. Occasionally, two or three of us would be squeezed in there, but it was fine. We’d nod, smile, chat if we knew each other. We had little to fear unless someone accidentally opened the door while one of us was undressed and a bloke from the shop floor might catch a glimpse. If a bloke DID try to come in, security cameras outside would hopefully see it and he’d be hauled out and hopefully sacked. In four years I was never aware of anything like this happening. This week, the UK’s biggest union - who represents some of our lowest paid female workers - voted to allow men into that room if they uttered the words: ‘I identify as a woman’. No surgery required. No hormones. No lipstick. (NOT that that would make any difference). Trevor from the meat aisle could walk in one day and declare that he is now Tracey and he’d be allowed into the female changing room. I think of my 16yo self, trying to earn some money (£2.07 an hour at the time) so I could save a bit of cash. I think how scared she would have been if a man had walked in unchallenged while I was down to my underwear. How I would have frozen in fear, tried to cover myself up. I would never have been as brave as nurse Sandie Peggie, who is in the midst of a hellish employment tribunal over this very issue. And even if I’d quietly expressed concern, I would have been called ‘bigot’ by my HR manager. My Union would do the same. The reason I speak up so much on this is that I now have two daughters and four young nieces who might one day find themselves in this exact situation. Do you stand with them and all the women and girls in your life? Or do you stand with these men? And the people, the unions, the organisations who are doing everything they can to help them access these spaces?

Nobody’s ‘taking’ except you. You demand that women and girls give up their rights and spaces to you. You insist there are no contexts in which a man shouldn’t be considered a woman if he says he’s one. Your aggression, entitlement and overreach brought pushback. This is on you.

Rosie Duffield was one of the few female Labour politicians with the guts to stand up for vulnerable women and girls, while self-satisfied numbskulls like you fought to give away their rights and spaces. TL;DR Keep her name out of your mouth.

No matter your views on her stated reasons for quitting, Rosie Duffield has made a political career out of dehumanising one of the most marginalised groups in society. She should never have been allowed the privilege of resigning. Labour should have withdrawn the whip long ago.

Gender ideology is like an onion with multiple layers, and once you actually dig into it, and get past the "be kind", "inclusivity!" And "diversity!" layers, you always end up at the same three layers at it's core: 1. Virulent misogyny 2. Deviant male sexual arousal 3. Child endangerment If you're a progressive and genuinely trying to get this issue right - as opposed to just mindlessly fighting a culture war - I implore you to look into the intellectual thought leaders of this movement (i.e. the ones shaping the agenda for it) both past and present. Look into the founding fathers of it, like Michel Foucault (godfather of queer theory and noted pedophile), Alfred Kinsey and John Money. Even a cursory glance at their work and history makes clear that for them, the entire intention of Queer Theory (and it's b*stard child, gender ideology) was to find intellectual arguments to make it more socially acceptable for adults males to f**k kids. The fight to normalize sexuaIIy deviant behavior by the intellectual thought leaders of this movement continues to this day, as we can see from the "women" below. Here's a handy thought experiment; forget everything you know about this debate and the arguments from both sides, and read all of these quotes below from the perspective that these ARE women, no different from any biological woman (as we're repeatedly told that they are). See if it makes any sense whatsoever to you. Now, switch your mental perspective and read all this quotes under the assumption that these are just porn-sick male sexual deviants who fundamentally hate women, see them as nothing more than vessels of male lust, and view their trans-identity primarily as a way to satisfy their fetishes. Now, one of those perspectives makes no sense at all, and one of them makes perfect sense to anyone with even a passing understanding of human sexual behavior in general (and male sexually deviant behavior in particular. I'll leave it to you to decide which is which.

An infallible recipe for poor mental health and lifelong unhappiness is believing that unless the entire world validates your self-perception, it hates you. If you move through life telling yourself that unless you can force other people to play along you'll 'be 'erased', if the slightest hint that another person doesn't see you the way you've labelled yourself feels like an attack on your very existence, your life will be spent in a state of miserable insecurity and fragility. Would I like to 'let go' of my femininity? Willingly; femininity is the set of stereotypes imposed on women by men. Would it 'make me feel like dying'? Of course it wouldn't. Vulnerable young people are being harmed by your kind of hyperbolic language, which promotes the lie about the inevitability of suicide among the gender-questioning unless they're given often irreversible medical interventions. Rhetoric like this flies in the face of everything we know about mitigating suicide risk among those with mental health issues and it's particularly gruesome when done by self-congratulatory people on Twitter whose banner picture is 'be kind'.

"my wife has supported my transition but I'm still miserable because she refuses to rebrand herself as a lesbian. As a trans person it is my right to determine everyone else's sexual orientation for them, and if they refuse to accept my decision on their sexual orientation they are transphobic" The only thing more shocking than the absolute entitlement these men feel over women's bodies/identities/spaces is the large number of women (many of them who consider themselves feminists) who will die on the hill to support them. Crazy times.
