@disrupthehuman Even if I think of what denji did not as saving, both in the sense of something a "hero" does that warrants praise and also the idea of preventing someone from falling into harm, I'm still not endeared to that? It's more she shows him gratitude/affections afterwards.

@thevoidopens scenes can be deliberately constructed with familiar forms but recontextualized to make a point. in this case, the familiar scene of the hero is used to show that heroes are not natural; they are made partially by subsuming certain acts under being "saved".

@prototypell Ideal part 2 has a scene where Asa fantasizes about Denji half naked the way he fantasizes about Makima and Reze. I wanted Asa to objectify Denji, I wanted him to become someone's muse after having so many muses.

@thevoidopens I don’t know if I love the execution but I think the point there is mostly about how Denji is a different person now that he’s not in his endless spiral. He can just help someone out, not expect sex, not get obsessed, just move on with his day and let her move on with hers.
