@brim006 I see. In my hockey brain, points are used to describe either standings or goals + assists. Using "points" in any other context makes no sense. At least Utah now has a hockey team. That is going to grow the sport there like crazy I think. Going to be a ton of 1st gen parents.

@thewheatcolonel I had lunch today with a guy from Utah who coaches his kid’s team. He mentioned being “up by 2 points”, so I immediately knew he knew nothing about hockey because no one says that lol. It’s a 2 goal lead or up by 2. He also said he tried to “shoot a goal”. Def not hockey lingo 😂

@BCHL_Alberta @TheProspectDon Casual UND fan here. When I heard how high he was projected for the draft, I had very high expectations. Haven't been able to distinguish his play from the other defensemen (Livanavage, Wiebe, and Emery). I guess I expected a bit more offense with all the hype.

I don’t know how to rate these big defencemen, my only point is I watched a lot of UND this year and the coaching staff did not have him playing like that. But I suspect the same thing will happen with Rudolph next year (if he goes college) where he’ll go from playing position-less hockey at PA to something an order of magnitude more structured.

In order to fully understand Keaton Verhoeffs offensive upside, you need to go back to his D-1 season in the WHL. He looked like a 4th forward out there at time. He has a rocket of a shot. Both his slap and wrist shots are deadly. He will be a weapon on the PP. As a freshman in the NCAA Verhoeff has 6G 14A 20P in 33GP Verhoeff has commanded about 19 min a night, 3 min on the PP and 1 min on the PK. Verhoeff is winning 56% of his board battles and displays really explosive bursts. Opposing teams are average around 2 hits on him a night and he doesnt look fazed. Where do you have Keaton Verhoeff ranked? @DraftProHockey has him ranked as our #1 D-man and 3rd overall

@DaveMallinak Same. In my opinion, there is a bent towards mysticism in some Baptist circles. There is a holy grail of filling of the Spirit and finding "God's perfect will." Young people seem especially prone to this error. A babe in Christ has access to the same Spirit as a seasoned saint.

I spent my teen years obsessed with obtaining the fullness of Spirit: hours in the dark hoping for a Charles Finney experience. Then my mom corrected me: "there isn't any more of the Holy Spirit for you to have. If you have Him, you have His power." But my flesh wanted more.

Hockey culture just cannot fully grab hold in Bismarck. It’s certainly here, but no where near the same as eastern ND. I tried talking to probably 15 different people at my office about the game tomorrow and not a single one even recognized what I was talking about let alone had insight on it lol
