Some Astros updates: - Hader threw 20 pitches to Trammell and Matthews and was pleased. He was at 91-93 mph for first time facing hitters in months. - Arrighetti will start tomorrow or Thursday. - Imai’s tests came back clean, so they’ll try to build up his arm strength.

Joe Espada mentioned on @SportsTalk790 that the Astros have started under .500 the first 17 games since 2020 He's right. 2020: 7-10 (ALCS) 2021: 7-10 (WS) 2022: 8-9 (WS win) 2023: 8-9 (ALCS) 2024: 6-11 2025: 8-9 2026: 6-11 It's a long season, there is still time

Colton Gordon is starting tomorrow. When are they going to call up Spencer Arrighetti?

It might just be me, but it's a very telling what the Astros think of Brice Matthews You would assume, after Meyers gets hurt, you would use it as a chance to see what he can do. However, Trammell is getting a lot more reps. I think Matthews is trade bait and has always been trade bait since last year

"We feel like right now w'ere going to be able to sustain these injuries because of the depth we have." - Dana Brown, today, April 12, 2026, as his team has allowed the most runs in baseball and is currently on a 6-game losing streak.

@TheAstrosLocker @TXsports17 Large margins right now. Avoiding tax thresholds while still enjoying bloated ticket, merch, food sales and SCHN. Savvy. Doesn’t require winning unless the fanbase stops buying

Do Espada and Dana still have their jobs by the trade deadline? I’m not really a big “fire everybody” guy, but Omar Lopez is sitting right there and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jim Crane act on impulse.

The starting MLB catcher for the #Astros has not shown that he has any clue where the strike zone is when he is at or behind the plate. And this is the least of his problems on field.

When @Astros third base coach almost surely costs us a run, I am not blaming him. I am blaming Joe Espada. He had to be without a doubt, the worst third base coach in all of baseball last year. So what does Espada do? He puts him right back in there this year? What the hell?

@HtownWheelhouse @astros Too much intermittent playing time and reduced reps leading to increased risk of injury. They think they’re preserving the players but only causing them to get hurt

I’d be curious to hear conversations going on in the FO, the medical staff, all those who get these athletes prepared for games. @astros are going through it RN! This is only getting worse. All while you have the highest scoring offense, 2nd highest team OPS. Just an absolute disaster!

Source: Astros RHP Tatsuya Imai is headed back to Houston today after recording only one out in his start Friday night in Seattle. No word yet from the team, but that typically means there's some kind of injury concern. Stay tuned.

After somewhat overhauling the medical/strength and conditioning department over the offseason, the Astros yet again find themselves as one of the most injury riddled organizations in the league. In the words of @MarkBerman_, I have zero words. Nada. It makes zero sense. #ChaseTheFight

@HayesHolly2 Historically, Altuve or Yainer…but after one Altuve made serious efforts to correct this problem, it had to be Yainer
