Hi, I'm the creator of a programming language and proof assistant named Bend, with 19k stars on GitHub. We'll launch a V2 soon. Having access to Mythos Preview would greatly help me improve the security of the language, and I believe the language itself will play an important role in software security in the future. I packaged up the "autoresearch" project into a new self-contained minimal repo if people would like to play over the weekend. It's basically nanochat LLM training core stripped down to a single-GPU, one file version of ~630 lines of code, then:
- the human iterates on the prompt (.md)
- the AI agent iterates on the training code (.py)
The goal is to engineer your agents to make the fastest research progress indefinitely and without any of your own involvement. In the image, every dot is a complete LLM training run that lasts exactly 5 minutes. The agent works in an autonomous loop on a git feature branch and accumulates git commits to the training script as it finds better settings (of lower validation loss by the end) of the neural network architecture, the optimizer, all the hyperparameters, etc. You can imagine comparing the research progress of different prompts, different agents, etc.

I looked at the technology, the team, the nature of its holders, and the bigger picture — and concluded it's one of the best long-term bets on the future of blockchain.

Are you not ignoring the experience of millions of people, probably because you frequent certain, uncommon circles?
Like anyone else, I have met many people who have normal jobs and do not have children for various reasons, but they are not “miserable” at all (some are, without me making too much effort to evaluate other people's lives).
I have also spoken to, met, many a person who, if they had had the opportunity, would not have had children (these people are kinda absent in the public discourse) and would have chosen a “normal” job instead of "building". Personalities are different, life experiences are different, the world is a big and varied place.

People keep asking me "are you working on something new?" and I'm not and it's because I don't have any real new ideas or problems to solve? Also AI in 2022 was groundbreaking you had the first image model, then the first real LLM, then video a year later, then 3d Now most of it is iterative, the image model is better, the LLM is better, the video model is better, everything gets better So there's less stuff to jump on for me technologically I think unless I go deeper and develop it myself I guess What's weird is most of my friends I ask "do you have any new ideas you're working on?" and they also have nothing, maybe it's some collective thing (I don't know so that's why I post it)
