I've asked AI to generate an image of a flight deck and I must say, although the captain doesn't get a seat (Every day is leg day🦵💪), at least it did actually get right that while in cruise, at least one pilot is at the.... desk.. I suppose. Nice!

@jollyhobos For smaller businesses, a lot of people will say it’s the transaction costs. I’ll say it’s more about the cost of declaring all of your income and paying taxes on it 🙄

Ok German people, help me out here. What's the deal with cash only in Germany? I thought Germany was an advanced technical country yet I'm forced to pay cash in about a 1/3 of my transactions! I feel I have gone back 10 years Even in supermarkets, 3 in 4 people paying cash.

„Ich habe Rücken und möchte ins MRT!“ Herr X arbeitet im Homeoffice. Seine Kreuzschmerzen bestehen seit ca. 2 Wochen. Beim Stehen und Sitzen ist es schlimmer, beim Laufen und Liegen besser. Die Schmerzen sind auf den Rücken beschränkt und strahlen nicht ins Bein aus.

@Mig_Angel_7518 @alojoh I agree. We will reach a tipping point after which the sale of ICEs will likely collapse. I can imagine that this tipping point will be reached at different points in different markets, though.

@alojoh The graphic is quite linear and that's not going to happen. It's being exponential so the stated 2040 numbers will be most likely by 2030.

It's funny, Bloomberg believes we'll make around 25m* ICE vehicles in 2040 🤣 They also estimate that BEVs only sell 27m units in 2030 while 1H23 annualizes already to >8m (compared to 1H22 annualized to about 2.1m or 4x increase yoy) Their forecasts appear highly flawed for a number of reasons: 1/BEVs will soon be much cheaper to produce than ICE and are already much cheaper to run/maintain. While BEV become less expensive, ICE manufacturing cost will increase as less of them are produced and higher emission standards are being introduced 2/Ban of ICE in major countries by 2035 3/Increasing number of 'green-zones' in large cities making buying ICE cars unattractive ... *ICE 13m + Hybrid which are also ICE 12m

Back to some multi-engine student training today - the weather has been beautiful!

@tessaapproves Definitely traffic accident. In my mind it’s a big, old fashioned, red bus on a misty evening. And locals, rolling their eyes about the stupid foreigner, inconveniencing everyone by his poor choice where to cross the road. (This vision probably counts as culturally insensitive.)
