@mctownsley Thanks for that Matt. I think it’s easy to get focused on a score than growth. Historically, folks would be ecstatic if a student moved from a B to an A even if they only grew minimally (statistically irrelevant) but still label failure for a kid who grew from 35 to 55.

@thierck Tell me more about what you mean, "allows for a focus on growth and not just achievement." The reason that I ask is because some measurement experts differentiate between product (achievement), process and progress (growth). For example: tguskey.com/multiple-grade…

@thierck Your book has me thinking about the "granularity" of the learning goals assessed and communicated in the grade book with target-based obviously more fine-grained than standards.

@noahstrang_ The in-arena experience is meh at best and one of the worst in the league. Crazy has run his usefulness and appears tired, and nothing to get the fans excited. Go to a game in Montreal and a bad call or cheap shot is replayed to get folks in the game. Never happens in Vancouver!
