@sasforums as 5G networks rollout, and more industries are embracing digital technologies, I see telcos competing with hyperscalers, network companies and even banks. Telcos are truly diverse #SASchat

@sasforums A4, A5 In a recent telecom event event @P_Ensarguet CTO, Orange Business Services was quoted and I really think it is a good statement: “It’s revolution not evolution. Evolution you can buy; revolution you have to do”#SASchat #Analyticsmodernization

@sasforums A5) Digital transformation requires automation and analytics. Communications companies can augment their talent by partnering, with universities or government projects or consulting with analytics companies designing education experiences.#SASChat #analyticsmodernization

@sasforums A5 Telcos are data rich companies, and in order to leverage the wealth of information contained within that data, there needs to be a serious investment into all forms of datascience. Whether it be analysts, engineers or administrators. #SASchat

@sasforums A4 further to that, Telco also has a major role to play in #4IR and #IoT evolution. I firmly believe that a network provider is the catalyst for advanced manufacturing, machine development and engineering. #SASchat

@sasforums A4 We are seeing Telcos in many markets developing super applications, where they offer interactive experiences. #MTNs AYOBA super app offering an in-app chat service that’s open to all networks to compete with OTT offerings such as Whatsapp/Wechat #SASchat

A3: Both - the recent lockdowns and also the war in Ukraine, established inevitable dependencies of our modern society on telecom services... This is an opportunity as well as responsibility for the industry.. #SASchat #Analyticsmodernization

@MariNBjorkman @sasforums Yes, they were not prepared. in fairness, no one was. What the pandemic and lockdown did do was to accelerate digitization and increase capacity without worrying about bottom line. the money came in #SASchat

@MariNBjorkman @sasforums A3 A3 Telcos were the lifeblood of the planet during lockdown. people relied on their devices to keep in tough and stay safe. Not only on individual levels, but as corporates were forced to have their staff work remotely, connectivity was as essential as wearing a mask #SASchat

@sasforums A3 Have an agile network capacity planning in place as capacity consumptions moved location wise very quickly by us all moving from offices, cinemas plus plus to consume services/entertainment/gaming at home instead #SASchat #Analyticsmodernization

@thoughts_Ash A2 yes, This has allowed mobile payments, money transfers and even micro/nano-loan services to be launched. We are seeing telcos also offering gaming and music streaming services from their own “superapps” which in itself is an exciting development #SASchat

@sasforums A2 Fintech has been the burgeoning industry. Telcos in developing and emerging markets have access to larger portions of citizens in those regions as compared to Banks or even Government entities #SASchat

A1: Digital #CX seems to be about abundance. Lots of alternatives. So personalisation is key. The telco #CX today is far superior to the one-size-fits all approach of a decade #SASchat

@sasforums A1 cont... but only the provider that finds the request suitable, will respond. Telcos have understood how creating an open platform for multiple application interfaces, that can provide plethora of services, is the best way to attract new customers. #SASchat

@sasforums A1 Services like Airbnb and Uber have connected service providers with service requestors on a needs basis only. Creating a platform for a “pull” request for service requestors opens the market for multiple service providers to respond #SASchat
