@Stampeders1945 @acquitted24 I met him some years ago at the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, Dale was a very impressive person as well as a player; my condolences.

Saskatoon native Dale West, a 3-time CFL West all-star and 1966 Grey Cup champ with Saskatchewan Roughriders, died Tuesday of cancer at 96. West played 106 games at receiver and defensive back 1962-68. He caught 18 passes for 480 yards & 6 TDs, and 17 picks for 265 yards & a TD.

EVEN MORE RULE CHANGES FOR THE #CFL 2026 No more ties! After two mini-games you'll see teams go back and forth with 2-point convert attempt shootout. Under 40 seconds in a game, you'll get one kneel down to end it if the defence doesn't have a timeout.

Remembering the beginning of the Western Interprovincial Football Union (now CFL’s West Division) 90 years ago in 1936 with Regina Roughriders, Calgary Bronks and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Edmonton Eskimos and B.C. Lions joined later. 🇨🇦🏈

I just acquired this 1940s blue and gold football jersey, #46, which is virtually identical to the ones Calgary Stampeders wore 1945-1947. Star Stamps player George Alexander is shown in picture from 1947 wearing his #47 jersey. Stamps switched to red and white in 1948.

It was a busy pre-season for Calgary Stampeders 70 years ago. In 1956, Stamps held training camp in July at Nelson, B.C. and played two Red-White intersquad games. Back in Calgary, they played exhibitions against Toronto Argonauts on Aug. 8 and Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Aug.11.

Here I am with Calgary Stampeders 1998 Grey Cup-winning QB Jeff Garcia when he was with San Francisco 49ers and returned to be honorary captain for Stamps 2000 home opener. I bought his Grey Cup helmet from equipment manager George Hopkins and got Jeff to sign it. 🇨🇦🏈

Calgary Stampeders main training camp opens on Sunday, signalling the start of another CFL season. Stamps first regular season home game is against Winnipeg on Friday, June 5 - three months earlier than Saturday, Sept. 2, 1950, home opener. A lot has changed in 76 years! 🇨🇦🏈🏇

I have big reservations above 8/9 making the playoffs. Understand that going from 5 to 9 playoff games creates value from TV, sponsors, gate for players and teams. But I don’t love it. Expansion would help. #CFL

@JohnDHodge @3DownNation A CFL world in which we used to live is quickly going away. I guess, now it’s time to start to adjust to this new CFL that is softly beginning with 2026 then reshaping its landscape in 2027.
