EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR: "At Metz I earned 3,000 pounds a month. My family asked for a house that cost about half a million. The club was fed up with me because of my behavior. I remember sitting on my bed one night thinking, What am I doing here? Nobody is happy with me, so what's the point of living? There was a pharmacy below my apartment. I bought a lot of packs of pills. They didn’t want to sell them to me, but I said they were for a charity event in Togo. I got everything ready, drank a lot of water, and I was set. Then I called my friend. He told me not to rush it, that I had many things to live for, that I had the potential to change Africa."
