Final thoughts... The fact you're 4-2 and both of your losses came from Eovaldi... Now he actively didn't look like himself today, but, again... We know how good Eovaldi is... If I could choose who are 2 L's came from, it would be him, because I know that isn't going to keep up

@NewbergReport Haha It's the fact. Your team won all games except his games. Unfortunately the dude lost his games against ace matchup(Sanchez, Rodgers)

Recipe to return to the playoffs: Win every non-Eovaldi start. Slightly more realistic recipe: Just keep winning series.

The Crazy dudes really said it. The reality is that the dude doesn't have the Cy Young trophy.

@Evan_P_Grant The crazy dudes said that He is the strong Cy Young candidate. 🤣 There is the reason that the dude doesn't have the Cy Young. He lost to Phillies ace(Sanchez) and Orioles ace(Rodgers).

Eovaldi doesn't retire a batter in the 5th. It is going to put heavy workload on bullpen. Brings both Latz and Rocker into potential equation, so a lot up in the air. Meanwhile Tyler Alexander is on

@Rangers @txuenergy pretty good lineup, no JJ, if Joc can at least work some counts until Cutch gets in, they might put up at least 5 today

Josh Jung is chasing at such a rate that it would not surprise me if Ezequiel Duran gets a start against RH before the week is out. He's just off to a really bad start.

@RangersFanCave Looks like Josh does the baseball without the plan when He faces the pitcher. I felt it about him.

@thisyear2042 It's obvious to me that it's mental. He has no confidence. It's like the yips but with a bat. They need to send him to Round Rock or Frisco to get some confidence back.

Here’s every pitch Josh Jung saw last night. Josh is 0-for-17 to start 2026. Dead last in all of baseball in wRC+, OBP, wOBA out of 379 hitters. He is completely lost at the plate right now and has the 1000 yard stare of a guy who is completely in his own head. What makes it worse is HOW he's making outs. His avg exit velo is 79.9 mph, 335th in the league. His hard swing rate is bottom 9% in baseball. He's going up there and hacking at pitches early in counts, making weak contact, and sitting back down. The 3-pitch strikeouts and the chase rate tell the same story: he's not working counts, he's not hunting his pitch, he's just trying to survive each at-bat. That's a hitter who has lost his process entirely. The 9th inning at-bat against Tyler Wells should be very concerning. Three pitches, three called/swinging strikes. Jung never got the bat off his shoulder in a meaningful way. A 69.6 mph curveball buckled him, and Wells put him away looking on a changeup. His xwOBA is .149. Zero contact quality. At some point, continuing to send him out there against major league pitching every night stops being an opportunity and starts being a slow erosion of whatever confidence he has left. We need the Jungle Cat back. But you don't get him back by letting him go 0-for-4 in front of 40,000 people every night until something clicks. It might be time for Ezequiel Duran to take over 3rd.
