@ryanschuchard If we weren't subsidizing free parking all over the place we would have an easy answer to this question: market rate.

A developer is converting a hotel into off-campus university housing (300 units, 900+ bedrooms) in the heart of a city’s network of multi-use paths. The plan includes an annual cash-back payment for residents who don’t bring a car. What is the correct $ amount of the payment?

5. Another aspect that people often think about is - how much time should I invest in posting on a new platform when I have fewer followers than on Twitter? One tool to help in a transition is to use a cross-poster, with a few caveats: crossposter.masto.donte.com.br

As a company from eastern Germany, we know that building a wall to try and keep people from leaving isn't a good idea.

Twitter is not a public town square no matter how many "commitments" to this or that the owner gives. Only a decentralized, open-source system can guarantee that.

@thebmbennett If resilient community building is what you want, decentralized, open source, open protocol is the way to go. It's flat and egalitarian. If influence and reach are the aim, then a centralized platform is necessary. Come check out some hashtags on Mastodon!

@AnnaSegur @DanWilliams303 Banning or reducing 2 stroke engine use is a good thing for pretty much everyone, so let's think about ways to make that transition possible and equitable! These GHG savings are some of the "cheapest" local govs could "buy" so this should be an easy win-win for funding.

@AnnaSegur @DanWilliams303 It seems like you and I could probably agree to a few points: 1 reducing our GHG emissions is important 2 minimizing health impacts of gas leaf blowers on those using them should be a priority 3 local gov's should be willing to subsidize the reduction of small gas engines

@DanWilliams303 My husband works in landscaping. He got an electric blower which lasts for less than one hour before the battery runs out. So either he buys 8 super expensive batteries or he can't work all day doing cleanups. Transitioning to electric blowers is cost prohibitive.

Common misconception: "local" doesn't mean you can only see local people. You can see posts and interact with anyone on any server, if you want to. Local just means we're trying to get folks from the Boulder area to congregate in one place so it's easier to find each other.
