@fkmyMesh Qu’on se le dise, pour avoir travaillé professionnellement avec les deux, ils sont presque des copies sous certains aspects. A croire que des développeurs de Maya ont quitté le navire pour participer à Blender

Have you heard about Gaussian Splatting? If not, you should. ✨ In 2025 we used it for the first time at @BenutsVFX on a Christmas movie 🎬🎄 It enabled shots we simply couldn’t achieve before ! A very promising technology. #VFX #GaussianSplatting #b3d

Every project at benuts is a playground for new tech. Gaussian Splatting on this film showed us just how far we can push our creative approach 🏰🎄 #vfx #gaussiansplat

Blender was very useful at @benutsVFX on the ambitious series We Come in Peace 🚀 Alongside Maya & Houdini for classic VFX, it excelled on more artistic shots. Geometry Nodes enabled fast procedural generation of mushrooms and alien eggs. Here are a few Blender shots 👇 #b3d

BLENDER TIP 👇 You don’t need a plugin for Radial DOF ! 📷 Switch the camera to Panoramic. Increase the DOF Ratio. Instant beautiful lens effect ! 🔥 #b3d

I’m using Blender natively to import Apple ML-Sharp Gaussian Splatting. ✨ Controlling focal point, camera parameters and parallax directly inside Blender opens the door to entirely new workflows. The result is seriously impressive. 🔥 #b3d #MLSharp #GaussianSplatting

The X-Ray Skeleton Arm is available to download on Blender's official website! #rendering" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">blender.org/download/demo-… (Remember it's for Blender 5.1 or newer) #b3d

@Thejurassicjord It’s done through Geometry Nodes. Since ML-Sharp is built for a single camera, it makes the setup much simpler to implement.

@thomasmarcoscom What are you using for the dof/lens distortion? I don’t think you can do that vanilla, but I’m not sure

@chisaehawng There is no native Gaussian Splat importer in Blender yet, but with Geometry Nodes it is absolutely possible to build a splat reader. 😉

@thomasmarcoscom blender native splat import is huge. the depth of field control alone makes this workflow worth it

@sigmameteor Oh that’s a great idea. I need to test it soon. I’m not sure if DLSS requires normals, depth or motion vectors for this setup.

@massimov_nyc Here it’s rendered in Cycles, starting from a Gaussian Splat setup built in Geometry Nodes. The splats does not update the camera data dynamically when you rotate around the scene.

Here it’s still a simple setup, but I find this use case really interesting, especially for adding beautiful defocus to something like a portrait photo. At @benutsVFX, we’ve been experimenting with Gaussian Splatting more broadly for several months, exploring how it can fit into cinematic production. Follow us to stay updated on our research and developments. 🎬✨
