@JimSteeleSkepti @SenWhitehouse It's one of the few things that actually cannot be manipulated - for real - because there are well documented and clearly visible evidence. All the other satellite 'distance from Earth's center' measurements and modelling you can just shut off.

The simple truth is sea level data gets manipulated. Satellite altimetry measurements of sea level are routinely validated against and calibrated using selected tide gauge data, particularly for monitoring and correcting instrumental drift and biases and to constrain model estimates. TOPEX/Poseidon (NASA/CNES) mission only started in 1992 & marked the start of the modern satellite sea level record, not long enough for accurate climate trends. It delivered what was considered highly accurate with ~2–3 cm precision of ocean surface topography which is a magnitude worse than the mm/year rise that is happening. A 2014 paper by Cazenave shows how much models can get "adjusted" to match global warming theory. First the data suggested sea level rose between 1994 and 2002 then fell from 2003 to 2011 and a rise of just 2.0-2.5 mm/year. Some quick model adjustments eliminated that trend to better fit global warming theory. Cazenave a known alarmist was concerned about supporting skeptics and revealed her bias writing, "This decreasing GMSL rate coincides with the pause observed over the last decade in the rate of Earth’s global mean surface temperature increase, an observation exploited by climate sceptics to refute global warming and its attribution to a steadily rising rate of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere." So the data got adjusted. Quite dishonest!

@SaqibMeerOnline @TRobinsonNewEra Funny you should say "butchered" when a butcher's knife seems to be Muslims preferred way of 'dealing with enemies'... Whatever happens in Gaza should have no influence on conduct in England. And if you don't understand that, gtfo.

2 Jews stabbed and it's on the headlines on the mainstream media and we all know why this is called a "terrorist attack" but not when hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians are being butchered in Gaza and Lebanon, the cities and villages are getting flattened by indiscriminate bombings, including hospitals, schools, UN workers, journalists. Children are getting sniped in the head. That is just normal everyday "self defence".

@Raphfel @anasalhajji Honestly, I thought you were better than putting up strawmen like this 🙄 Have any serious people really claimed that buying EVs for private transportation would reduce oil consumption to zero? I doubt it!

LGBT+ er so last decade.

It's even worse than that. The electricity grid is paid for and maintained via tariff payments, which are attached to consumption. But the cost is actually not related to consumption, so with the same grid connection, but less electricity transported to an individual home, this home is not paying its share of the grid, on which it still depends.

Rooftop solar funded by Great British Energy is cutting energy bills for schools and hospitals right across the country. Putting more money back into the frontline services that communities rely on. 🌹That’s the difference this Labour government is making.

@DrNeilStone I'm sure you can find people who say the vaccines didn't work, but that was never the objection! It was about the necessity of those experimental vaccines, particularly on age groups with no risk of lethal symptoms.

@Londonlife44 @JamesMelville I have had a heat pump dryer for more than 10 years (the same one), and I love it. It is also much easier on the clothes, because they don't get warm until they are dry. And I get free calcium-free water I can use for cleaning the windows 😉

@AlexEpstein For most European EV buyers, the EV will be their first sub-six second car, and probably the first sub-six they have ever driven. The day-to-day practicality of an EV is amazing, making the extra attention during infrequent long trips worth it.

Myth: EVs have achieved superiority over gas cars, as evidenced by their increasingly high adoption rates in China and Europe. Truth: In both of those places, high EV adoption rates are the result of massive government subsidies of EVs and forced phaseouts of gas cars. Whereas, in the US, since massive EV subsidies stopped in 2025, EV adoption rates have stalled. EVs are not yet competitive with gas cars, and governments that force people to use EVs are making everyone's lives worse.

@AlexEpstein Yes, that is true. But in the process, they are getting a lot better - and cheaper. And the running costs are a joke! My current BMW EV cost me twice as much as my previous diesel BMW, but the total monthly costs are lower.

This is a poll on Cambridge student voter intention, ran by the head of the Cam Uni Labour Club. I cannot overstate how much this worries me. Cambridge students are painfully out of touch with national feeling. Green is leading by a total landslide: the party that has single-handedly the worst policies on trans and immigration imaginable. When I was cancelled (for owning 3 gender-critical books!), I was astounded at the number of people who said things along the lines of: “Why are you choosing to die on this hill when the majority of people disagree with you!?” and, even more annoyingly, “Look at all the intelligent people around you who disagree! “. It is very rare for an academic here to speak their mind of this subject, so many students automatically assume their beliefs. This isn’t helped by the pride progress flag adorned on every hall. Or the ‘gender expression’ funds, offered by many a JCR, providing money for Stand to Pee devices, breast forms and binders. It is propaganda. They have no idea that the vast majority of the British public do indeed know what a woman is. But I don’t blame them! School taught my cohort gender ideology as fact- a few boys in my class were chastised for saying they didn’t buy it. And public institutions keep up the falsehood - have you been to an NHS waiting room in the last ten years? It is no wonder. But a huge worry. Very soon these students will graduate. they will take up positions in law, in science; as teachers, politicians etc. Some will change their minds on things, i’m sure. But it is naive to assume this is the typical leftist fad young people go through, and even more naive to think we won’t feel the lash.

Well, they're right about one thing: nuclear and wind/solar do not play well together. That is because, when the plant is very expensive, but the fuel is cheap and emission-free, wind and solar actually add not value, but subtract from the revenue of a nuclear plant. Conversely, wind and solar are heavily dependent on low capacity factor backup to be economical. This necessitates the backup must be cheap to build but can deal with higher fuel cost, leaving natural gas as basically the only viable option. There is one exception: nuclear plus solar in very sunny countries, where reliable solar power can drive some daytime loads at low cost, such as A/C.

'Dangerous and expensive, nuclear power is a dead end - and Scots know it'. "Relying on a uranium-fuelled nuclear future makes no sense and Scots seem to get that." "We should just get on with building a country that is a renewable energy powerhouse so that future generations can look back and thank us for choosing a green, clean and sustainable energy route. Nuclear is not a natural partner with renewables, indeed, it is a delaying tactic, holding back rapid decarbonisation, and adds extra and unnecessary cost to a renewables-based energy system." heraldscotland.com/politics/viewp…
