Steven Soderbergh reveals that THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO was the first time Lucasfilm had a finished script ready for greenlight rejected by Disney. “In the aftermath of the [Hunt for Ben Solo] situation, I asked Kathy Kennedy if LFL had ever turned in a finished movie script for greenlight to Disney and had it rejected. #StarWars fans paid to fly a plane over Disney Studios with a banner reading "Save The Hunt for Ben Solo," referring to the rejected Kylo Ren movie Adam Driver and Steven Soderbergh developed for two years. Driver revealed to the AP that Disney execs Bob Iger and Alan Bergman axed the standalone movie. The actor said "The Hunt for Ben Solo" was “one of the coolest scripts I had ever been a part of,” with Soderbergh adding: "I really enjoyed making the movie in my head.
