@dobssi Ah yes. Think of all the signal and track monitoring that could be done remotely/automatically on a dedicated system.

2 hours on a train from Liverpool to London trying to use a laptop via personal hotspot. I have two numbers on different networks - a uk one and a Swedish one roaming; mobile data switching is on. It’s absolutely hopeless. The mobile data network in this country is pitiful.

@FreeNow_UK I was hugely over charged on a journey yesterday morning. Immediately contacted via the app and was told I’d get a response within 24 hours. I’ve heard nothing. Please respond.

@dobssi I loved Malmö - it’s a vibrant and pretty city with a safe and positive vibe. I’d recommend it to anyone, lots to see and do (great food scene)

Don’t listen to clueless Americans who couldn’t find Sweden on a map. Or white supremacists who just want a social media following. It’s not perfect but it’s a lot safer than pretty much any US city.

Everyone should read this exceptionally brave and powerful piece if they can: The man who raped me was arrested at the scene. Why did it take years to go to trial? thetimes.com/article/e40399…

It is unbearably sad news, but this is a wonderful tribute that captures Rachel brilliantly. What an extraordinary woman. RIP observer.co.uk/news/national/…

@dobssi Before Covid we probably never gave much thought to people having colds all around us in autumn/winter, as it was the norm. Covid raised awareness and made everyone fearful. Good to see you running more and faster…

Why is my timeline full of people saying all are sick around them and its due to the pandemic? Everything seems normal for autumn to me. A few colds going around, the odd person having a bad one but generally as it always was. In fact its felt that way for at least 2 years. 1/
Kelly@broadwaybabyto

Everyone I know is sick right now with “a bad bug” Many are lamenting the fact that they were sick not long ago as well Then they turn around and ask me when I’m going to stop masking My N95 means I avoid not only covid, but all the other viruses floating around Masks rock!

@HLTCO I always thought if we kept it close by 70 mins we’d have a chance. Thursday-Sunday is a league season killer. The irony is it’s what we are aiming for. Palace were superb until you tired today. Schooled us. If it had been 0-3 at half time we could have had no argument.

No doubt whatsoever that we lost a huge amount of intensity in the second half. If Mateta scores the chance, it’s probably a different outcome entirely but that’s the game. You could tell as soon as the penalty came it would happen. 19 games is one hell of a run. Onwards.

I managed to find a couple more pairs of these ‘pre-carbon’ era Nike’s recently. I did a bunch of PB’s in them back pre-pandemic. Used them for last week’s Lidingöloppet 30k forest terrain race. Was back running after 2 days off, and unusually for me, barely any toenail issues.

@PaulTonkinson @holland_tom @SimonMagus Scientifically we are classed as a ‘great ape’. I think he means atheists can agree we are a type of ape, with dna shared with chimpanzees, say, from 100,000 years ago, but can’t see that our culture (laws/morality) owes anything to our 2,000 years of bible-based Christianity

It does seem so much easier for atheists to acknowledge they’re apes than - in cultural terms - Christians
Daily Wire@realDailyWire

.@billmaher: The Bible is full of nonsense and wickedness. @benshapiro: But you and I agree a lot on morality, right? Because we were born in a society built by the Bible. You can think you formed your own morality, but you were born morally on third base. *audience erupts*

@dobssi @Padraiccleary Absolutely when we lived there, couldn’t get reception if you set foot on the beach. Marginally better on beach in Worthing. Never really noticed any of the so-called massive speed benefits of jump from 3g to 4g to 5g supposedly 1,000 times faster or something

The mobile network in London is simply not fit for service. I have 2 numbers. Vodafone UK and my Swedish 3 on roaming. It’s not possible to sustain a call consistently via either or via WhatsApp. Been like this a few years. Utter shambles.
