@guyelster @kaisos1987 You took Grok's mistranslation and copied it into English. 😅 Grok thinks Assad is in Syria still, when it thinks in Hebrew since Israelis are so hostile to the new President.... It doesn't understand there has been a change 🥴🤷‍♀️

Oh dear. Sorry, but at some point they need to be pressed and commanded to make arrests based on the crime, regardless of the perpetrator and whether they are political allies or not. It is not too much to demand. It will not break Syria as long as the those involved in beatings of Kurds are also arrested.

@thoughtflblonde Syrians are not YPG's constituency They don't care about our opinion Damascus won't pressure them bc $200k in public property damage is not the hill to die on Empty police cars absorbing the brunt of the angry mob is a big improvement for YPG behavior tbh

@JoJo98105823590 I'm not saying that the token force should arrest them. There should be public pressure for the Asayish or a joint force to arrest them.

@thoughtflblonde Who's gonna arrest them? We have only a token force in Hassakah for now Trying to arrest an armed militia = war We'll continue integrating & dissolving SDF on low heat Throwing away the deal over vandalism is irrational & will do more harm than good

Two steps forward, one step back. Each instance of instability is an opportunity for Syrians to see which choices are reckless and destructive and which ones improve the country and bless it.

People easily forget what Robert Mueller was tasked with investigating: evidence of conspiracy and obstruction of justice. In the course of that investigation, a dozen GRU officers attached to Unit 26165 were indicted, as were Yevgeny Prigozhin, two of his shell companies, and a dozen of his troll farm employees. The charges leveled against these Russians were conspiracy to commit offenses against, or defraud, the United States, identity theft, money laundering and wire and bank fraud. The Mueller investigation wasn't, properly speaking, a counterintelligence investigation. That work fell to the Republican-led Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), which released its conclusions in five different volumes beginning in July 2019, far more comprehensive and detailed than the Mueller Report, although they individually and collectively garnered a fraction of the attention. "No probe into this matter has been more exhaustive," said the acting SSCI head in August 2020, when the fifth and final volume was released. He was right and deserves a lot of credit in getting to the bottom of Russian active measures and election interference in the 2016 presidential contest. His name was Marco Rubio.

Still think everything goes back to Syria. Russia normalized flattening cities and just saying ‘terrorists’. Israel with its close Russian ties did the same to Gaza. Ru thought it could repeat in UA but they fought back. Decided to go after power plants every winter now.

@glcarlstrom @yashar I just don't get it - didn't Trump just ask Netanyahu not to target infrastructure, like yesterday? Two days ago? He's losing it.

We don't care about the Strait of Hormuz and we're going to wind down the war. Also if you don't reopen the strait, we will massively escalate the war Iran almost certainly will not blink on Hormuz. And needless to say, if Trump does this, Iran will respond by attacking similar targets in Gulf states Also needless to say, this would have profound, long-lasting impacts for millions of Iranians People are still trying to pretend there's some sophisticated plan here, there's not, there's an administration frantically trying to tweet its way through a war that has not gone at all the way it expected
The White House@WhiteHouse

🚨 “If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST…” - President DONALD J. TRUMP

This is not OK. This is typical Israeli rhetoric. We don't need to do war by blackmail. Why does he think a terror regime cares about electricity? This is why Israel didn't defeat Hamas. Hamas said they won the war because they showed how evil Israel is. It helped them that Israel's main strategy is to destroy infrastructure. What do you think Iran is going to do? America should be better than this.

When the Muslims entered Jerusalem, The Jewish Temple was turned into a mountain of rubbish by the Byzantines. The Muslims cleared it and turned it into a beautiful place where the God of Abraham and Moses was worshiped alone. It’s what Moses would have wanted.

@jamesstout @4_hastings They're all civilians who were beating each other up before too. It takes on a more racist character because of the holiday that obviously bothered some people. Too much tension with integration not complete.

@thoughtflblonde The new Syrian gov have only themselves to blame for what is happening. Their attempts to integrate and include former regime criminals and Kurdish separatist terrorists is biting them hard where it hurts. It had many chances to eliminate these crims but showed weakness instead

The stupid thing is that in the first incident there is no Kurdish flag in sight. Those were obviously a bunch of hardcore YPG guys. So Syrians burning the Kurdish flag in response escalates against a different group. Sectarianism is as stupid as it looks.

#Syria: tensions are escalating following the incident with the national flag in Ain Arab/Kobane. Kurdish flags are being burned and trampled on, with cases of beatings & calls to protest.

It is interesting to think about the only reason the revolution won is because so many Sunni Arabs were stuck in one small province and they had to figure out how to work together or be stuck there together forever fighting each other. The same thing will happen throughout Syria - it will probably just also take the 5 or so years the former took, though I'm sure there steps to achieve reconciliation faster and with less violence.

@carefultwitt You have to integrate the criminal SDF members just like you have to integrate the criminal SNA members. That's how it works when you have a revolution with a hundred different armed groups all with their own popular bases. There is no "fair" way to transition out of the war.

Arab areas of the northeast have been protesting for two months against different aspects of the SDF deal + ongoing SDF violations. There is little popular support for the integration. Today's riots and protests are about more than the removal of the Syrian flag.

Ethnic Incitement is off the roofs against Syrian Kurds on Social Media. Certain known individuals and a widespread pro-STG audience are making bogus claims against Syrian Kurds and hope to escalate the situation into Ethnic War against Kobane and Northern Hasakah. There is an integration deal. And any attempts to renege on the Integration deal will result in the STG losing legitimacy and will trigger US sanctions. Eyes are still on Syria. So it is better for Pro-STG Instigators to STFU.
