I mentioned weeks ago that Peralta's poor performance was really going to hamper his trade value. #Mets ultimately end up getting a couple of non-impact prospects for him. Clay Holmes and Luke Weaver probably bring back more. Hate the whole quantity > quality aspect too.

The expectation going around is that Masaya Yano, arguably the best defensive shortstop in NPB, may be released by the Hiroshima Carp. Was recently linked to the Ryutaro Hatsuki drug scandal.

Like, people forget that in the late 90s and early 2000s, the KBO was probably in between NPB and AAA in terms of skill level
Now it's between AA and AAA.

Especially when the quality of play in the KBO and CPBL has fallen off a cliff in the last couple decades because half of their top prospects leave.
Of course there are other factors (like the complete lack of meritocracy in Korean High School Ball) but it's a big one.
