I’m 30 hours into Nioh 3 (about halfway way through). It’s fantastic. Pros: - The open world is awesome, there’s so many cool things to find and explore. Exploration is REWARDED. The first map is the tip of the iceberg - Combat in samurai and ninja stance is complex but so rewarding once you figure out how to weave combos and when to use each. - Gear starts out as just number go up but unique weapons, soul cores, skills, and armor sets add a lot to build crafting - The game has a great balance of difficulty. Personally I think it is a lot easier than Nioh 2 but still feels challenging and satisfying to beat bosses. - performance is great. Pretty much locked to 120 fps on my PC and the areas look beautiful - skill and combat expression is at an all time high. I kinda think of Monster Hunter in the way that there is mastery to be had over every weapon and new skills constantly unlock as you are playing. Cons: - story is eh but I don’t play these games for the story - there’s a lot of new terms, mechanics and systems that might be confusing to a new player. Game does a decent job at explaining them but I could see people getting overwhelmed quite easily. -enemy diversity is decent but not a high point. Overall I think this is a top 5 soulslike and a must play if you enjoy these type of games. Nioh isn’t for everyone but if you are the target audience for this game oh man does it hit. Cant wait to beat the game and try out NG+ #Nioh3 @KoeiTecmoUS
