"What characterizes the value of the ingenuity and imagination of a researcher is the quality of his attention as he listens to the voice of things - for the things of the Universe never tire of talking about themselves and to reveal themselves to he who cares to listen. Thus, the most beautiful house, that in which the love of the builder is most evident, is not that which is larger or higher than the others. Rather, a house is beautiful if it faithfully reflects the structure and beauty hidden in things."

We’ve started gradually upgrading the maths teachers in the South East and also started releasing the maths training videos on the South East Maths Olympiad LMS.
Maths is now being taught in the most exciting and easy to understand way.
One issue we discovered was that our current maths teachers know their onions but they are very boring and uninteresting.
They also have very stale and ineffective pedagogy.
We will be revamping that as-well.
We will be started a major maths campaign across the South East. We called it the gospel of maths.
Encourage every child and school you know to participate in the South East Maths Olympiad 2027, because that is the only way they can benefit from what is coming.

Telnet isn’t just testing a service, it’s testing TCP connectivity. A timeout also doesn’t automatically mean the port is closed, it often means packets are getting dropped somewhere along the path, which can be a firewall.
And when Nmap shows “filtered”, that suggests blocking, but it’s not definitive proof of a firewall rule either.
This feels more like a case of misinterpreting the tools than the tools themselves being the issue. Just sharing this so intending network security engineer don’t get the wrong idea.

In the future, I will also add my "research trails" thing which uses my browser history to figure out when did I first start developing an interest in what, what did I read when about it, and how/if they connected or built on top of each other (including to my projects... which I still haven't decided on how to handle re: online and real life persona). That and every article, bookmark, paper etc in the archive will also be stored on disk, as I don't trust that the Internet won't keep dying and degrading.
All of this is really made just for myself, which is why it's nice to have one non-autistic project to work on.
I just want to be able to look back in 10 years and have a very large archive of the story of my interests, and I also want a place to keep publishing (some) thoughts online.

Last year in January I mentioned one of my goals for last year was to honor Gwern's reply which mentioned things I could do for my personal website, and in April I ended up building a first version.
I've added many things recently which I am happy about, including:
- embedding all 858 bookmarks, 445 videos, 184 papers and 21 posts to generate cool "See Also" sections on all my posts
- archiving most of PDFs I link to and directly hosting them on the website itself in case the outbound links go down
