@nyan_satan Do you believe a similar approach could be taken to get the iPhone 5c running iOS 6? There's no kernels in internal builds but since the SoC is the same that should not be a problem.

Long story short, I built a kernelcache from raw S5L8922X kernel and kexts one can find in most internal iOS 6 dumps for some other devices. Also needed a lot of DeviceTree tuning

Apparently it’s not commonly known, but you actually can run good ole OS X Mavericks on a Mac mini (Late 2014) which was released with Yosemite already Requires a few tricks, but nothing complex If there’s any demand, I can release a tutorial + software to simplify the process

Put your 3GS into DFU mode. Run Legacy-iOS-Kit, select restore custom IPSW in the restore menu and pick the 8A133 IPSW. After the restore, if your device is on a black screen, run Legacy-iOS-Kit again and under "Useful Utilities" install alloc8.
