No one is paid what they "deserve." We are paid what we negotiate. It sucks, but there it is (My wife's a teacher, we are well aware of this.) The WGA strike is a negotiation. They made an offer. We said no. It's not part of the culture war. It's not an attack on the free market. It is the free market. The same people who profess the virtues of capitalism and "betting on yourself" seem oddly offended when others do just that. We are negotiating our work contract like anyone would, and everyone should. We are betting on ourselves. It feels personal to us because so much is at stake for our families and our profession. It feels personal to them because they're ego-maniacs. Why it feels personal to other people, I cannot say. But in the end, it is just a negotiation of a work contract between two parties. That's it. #WGAStrong
