1. Great news! The @RBNHSFT "AMU Virtual Ward" is up and running again! (Previously known as the COVID Ambulatory Clinic.) Using the TICC-19 pathway some patients with confirmed or suspected COVID can be safely managed at home with remote monitoring. ticc19.com

@RBH_AMU Absolutely! From the very beginning, Zac supported the AMU Virtual Ward managing COVID. Zac's been hugely supportive of the new Virtual Ward pathways for conditions such as PE, alcohol withdrawal etc to manage patients safely at home. Thanks Zac! 👋😃

TICC-19 is a triage pathway for COVID-19 patients based on oxygen sats. Patients who can safely be discharged can be given a sats probe and followed up at home, creating a "virtual ward" in the community. Find out more: ticc19.com #BeatCOVID19

@ticc_19 Definitely agree with this. We have noticed the same with patients personal pulse oximetry, bringing patients back into the ED with an SpO2 of 86% only to find it read >95% on arrival. Dangerous really. What if a device reads inaccurately high? Ever had that?

Thanks Ryan and Adam for helping us out in the Virtual Ward last week. Both are ED PAs who qualified in the first batch of PAs 3 years ago, and are really super clinicians (and were great fun to work with!) 👍 brilliant ED-AMU collaboration.

Patients on COVID virtual wards able to complete 10 day course of DEXAMETHASONE & have LMWH at home.Interested to see the outcome data in due course. Oximetry@home/CVW fully operational in ALL localities in Greater Manchester ensuring patients get the very BEST tx own their home

Plan for the exceptional cases?

All pts in the virtual ward are assessed for thromboprophylaxis. Remember renal function and remember if weight over 120kg give tinz. We send out tinz fairly regularly. Works fine :)

We've been prescribing thromboprophylaxis for a while now but not much dex.
