Worldwide the Elderly is treated like trash! My mom is 89 & what we have to endure is indescribable. They've now cut their food in the Old Age home. I have to bring her home but she needs more care than I can give. But at least, she'll eat properly, get her pain managed and be kept warm. They hold back pain meds by super passive aggresive behaviour - "We'll bring it now and then just don't!" And this is a church based Old Age home! These people in their 80's BUILT the countries we live in. They tought US to eat with a knife & a fork and they're treated like crap! I am also a pensioner - I really cannot care for her the way she should be cared for. But what other options are there?

I was working in a doctors surgery with an external company rebuilding stuff at the reception desk and a woman from town came in with this guy. She said to receptionist he’s taken all his medication can he get another prescription? Receptionist looks at script and says oh no these are …whatever the name of strong opiates..you can’t get them two weeks early it’s policy. Woman leans in and says he’s an asylum seeker. Receptionist says I’ll go and speak to a doctor. She comes back and hands another script over. Would ANYONE else get this treatment? No.

Told yesterday of a couple in their 80’s who went to their GP surgery to make an appointment to change her tablets as she has cancer. She was told she couldn’t have an appointment for several weeks. They sat in shock, then a woman who couldn’t speak much English came in to book and was given one the following day.
The gentleman went to complain and was told they get paid £184 to give an appointment to the other lady.
Shocking. 2-tier system.

So I sat thinking about it, and then, by coincidence, the same question came up on GB News: who is the best person to run against Andy Burnham?
For me, the answer is simple: Maggie Oliver.
She is the former police officer who put her head above the parapet and spoke out when others stayed silent. She challenged the institutions and individuals who, in the eyes of many campaigners and survivors, failed vulnerable children and sought to suppress the truth.
Thousands of young girls were subjected to horrific abuse across areas including Rochdale and Oldham. Multiple independent inquiries and criminal convictions have established that serious institutional failings allowed that abuse to continue for years.
I attended a public meeting in Oldham and listened to victims, survivors, campaigners, and local residents. They spoke with dignity and clarity about how badly they had been failed. Their testimony was powerful and deeply moving.
That is why a contest between Maggie Oliver and Andy Burnham would be so significant. It would give voters a clear choice between someone who has built her reputation by challenging institutional failures and a politician whose record continues to face intense scrutiny from critics.
Ultimately, the public will decide who they trust to deliver accountability and ensure that the mistakes of the past are never repeated.
@MaggieOliverUK you have an Army here ready to campaign for you.

A pack of kids in a town outside Buenos Aires in Argentina spotted something black and motionless at the edge of an abandoned lot. It was a dog. She’d fallen into a pit of tar and the tar had set hard around her. They called their parents, who called the police, who called a small animal rescue group. Eight volunteers worked for nine hours straight, using 50 litres of vegetable oil to dissolve the tar enough to free her. They named her Aloe.

In 2013, an 11-week-old baby died six hours after being given 20 vaccines at once during a routine vaccination appointment.
"Nearly 12 years later, a court ruled the vaccines killed her."
"The Department of Justice and HHS, up until now, have fought for over ten years to deny this family's claim that the baby died from her vaccines."

Wes Streeting has never had a proper job. He went from the NUS to the bonkers trans cult of Stonewall to the Labour Party. The idea that he has the ‘common touch’ is laughable. He is the living embodiment of the wankerati, says Brendan O’Neill
