In the next version of cmux You can define custom actions to replace the "+" new workspace button and tab bar buttons And you can right-click the "+" button to run custom actions This means you can bring your own worktree, multiple checkouts, or SSH setups to cmux and have them open in the exact layout you want All custom actions are also available in cmd+shift+p

Introducing cmux Claude Code Agent Teams: `cmux claude-teams --dangerously-skip-permissions` Teammates/subagents spawn as native cmux pane splits. They stack vertically in a right column and auto-equalize as agents spawn and exit. `cmux claude-teams` automatically sets CLAUDE_CODE_EXPERIMENTAL_AGENT_TEAMS=1 and shims tmux on PATH with cmux's tmux-compat layer, so you don't need to update your Claude config. All arguments forward to Claude Code, and it works over cmux SSH too. Out in the latest version of cmux (0.63.x).

Introducing cmux SSH: `cmux ssh user@remote` You can now drag images into SSH'd Claude Code sessions, and cmux will automatically upload them via scp. And when you start a dev server on the remote machine, the browser pane in cmux can reach it at localhost:3000 without port forwarding. The workspace kinda becomes the remote machine, so split panes/new tabs automatically open remote shells. Out in the latest version of cmux (0.63).

My favorite cmux feature is Cmd+Shift+U. I have 17 workspaces open right now, each running an agent. I used to click through tabs and macOS system-wide notifications to figure out what completed. But with cmux, I can just "Cmd+Shift+U" Cmd+Shift+U jumps to the newest unread notification. In practice that means the last agent that finished. It switches to the right workspace, focuses the exact pane, flashes it so you see where to look, and marks it read. If the notification came from another window, that window comes forward.

cmux is not prescriptive about how developers hold their tools. It's a terminal and browser with a CLI, and the rest is up to you. cmux is a primitive, not a solution. It gives you a terminal, a browser, notifications, workspaces, splits, tabs, and a CLI to control all of it. cmux doesn't force you into an opinionated way to use coding agents. What you build with the primitives is yours. The best developers have always built their own tools. Nobody has figured out the best way to work with agents yet, and the teams building closed products definitely haven't either. The developers closest to their own codebases will figure it out first. Give a million developers composable primitives and they'll collectively find the most efficient workflows faster than any product team could design top-down.

Introducing cmux: the open-source terminal built for coding agents. - Vertical tabs - Blue rings around panes that need attention - Built-in browser - Based on Ghostty When Claude Code needs you, the pane glows blue and the sidebar tells you why. No Electron/Tauri. Just Swift/Appkit.

Announcing Preview: a GitHub bot that comments UI screenshots on your PRs. Today’s senior engineers are overwhelmed with manually reviewing frontend PRs. Preview automatically spins up your dev server in a VM, reads the diff, and navigates to relevant pages to capture UI screenshots for your PRs.

A hosted service that is super easy to onboard that gives you a sandbox to run your coding agents in for asynchronous agentic coding. Also ships a mobile app for iOS/Android. Who’s building this?

Life update: I'm leaving behind esports. It's been hard to put into words, to crystallize the bittersweet feelings of closure. Still, it's easy to count my blessings, to close my eyes and remember all the players, staff, and fans that have touched my life. As for what's next..
