@tilapiazo @SuperealArcDoom @polen_ball CKS was the leader of the KMT when they fled to Taiwan and is more commonly recognized as its founder, but Sun Yat Sen also believed Taiwan was a part of Chinese territory too. And yes revolutions can make countries lose territory but it doesn’t make it legitimate

@removeduser220 @SuperealArcDoom @polen_ball You said ROC which was founded 1912 by Sun Yat Sen? 2 is relevant because the transfer you talk about was given by Japan to ROC in 1952 not to PRC. And countries losing territories in revolutions is very common as revolutions throw sovereignty into question (e.g. finland in 1917)

The PRC not administering Taiwan is irrelevant because a country’s government being overthrown by a different one does not mean it loses legitimate claims to the territory of the country.

Sun even travelled to Taiwan to seek cooperation from Japan against Qing.
