I am deeply disgusted by the shocking abuse of power exhibited by Harrisville Borough Council and its President, April Anschutz, at their recent public meeting. Ordering the forcible removal of duly elected Councilwoman Mary Ann Hughes, a 65 YEAR OLD WIDOW, business owner, resident, and taxpayer, for attempting to address corruption and harassment by Harrisville’s agents is reprehensible, authoritarian, and contrary to the principles of open and lawful government. Despite her elected post, calm demeanor, and right to speak, Mary Ann was shouted down, intimidated, interrupted, and physically assaulted. I unequivocally demand the immediate and unconditional resignation of Anschutz. Her flagrant overreach and disregard for the rule of law prove she is unfit to hold public office and must step down without delay. Furthermore, the actions of the officer of duty must be reviewed. To the cowardly members of Harrisville Council who stood idly by and allowed for this disgusting abuse to occur without challenge, I urge you to begin removal proceedings for Anschutz should she refuse to resign. And to examine your conscience if you believe its alright to treat an elderly, lifelong, female community servant in this way. I call upon the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to launch a formal ethics investigation into the seemingly concerted efforts by Harrisville Borough agents to install their own agent into Councilwoman Hughes’ duly elected office, along with the apparent conspiracy to sabotage Mary Ann’s First and Fourth Amendment rights. The citizens of Harrisville, and Pennsylvania, deserve accountability and transparent governance, free from such tyrannical tactics.

@eugenejhunt Years ago I worked on an organic farm with an old hippie who was eccentric hydrogen - he ran experiments on the farm and ultimately blew up a significant portion of earth and could have really hurt people if they were around, but he kept at it and had success through failure.

@PeachProof23 This girl never needed a diet in 17 years. Just great metabolism (and boundless activity). Fighting weight 20 lbs. Healthy her whole life. Left this plane two months ago 😢

I am currently being emotionally extorted by a 30lb animal who hasn’t eaten in exactly 45 minutes. The vet said “maybe lose a pound or two,” and now my dog is acting like he’s starring in a Victorian tragedy about a starving orphan. He actually sighed. A deep, soulful, "I'll never see a piece of cheese again" kind of sigh. Is it really a diet if it feels like a civil rights violation? Asking for a friend (the friend is the dog).

@JohnAnt47390257 @austinfgreen @profstonge I've lived in NM for about 8 years. I realized a few years ago that this state actually has a matriarchal culture. I actually think that drives a lot of the corruption and nepotism. Women are great, but "broody hen" syndrome is real and more common in this state.

@tillnextime2 @austinfgreen @profstonge Sucks man, sorry to hear that. We only have the gov to blame. I can’t believe how quickly this came but has also been a slow erosion of our economy for men. We are in for a world of hurt when this shit collapses

@austinfgreen @profstonge Kind of you! It's interesting how many people have remarked on the difference between myself and my co-workers. I think the office benefits tremendously from having a male perspective and my co-workers agree with me. I used to work in Utah every month, great state, great people!

@austinfgreen @profstonge As a man, it's hard to get a good job. I'm over 40, spent my life working outdoors, have a good degree and work history but it's nearly impossible to get a good job that's not manual labor. I did get a decent office job but I'm in a field of almost all females & the lowest paid

@profstonge I’m baffled by the stories I hear. From friends and family I’m constantly hearing stories of girls who have deadbeat boyfriends who don’t work, sit at home all day while their girlfriends work to provide, sometimes even multiple jobs.

This is the harsh reality for younger Americans with the cost of living “For all of you that wonder what life is like after high school, I'm in a Walmart parking lot, eating tuna out of a can — sleeping in my car” Zillow analysis of Census data showed 60% of Gen Z renters struggle to pay rent Even more shocking, 70% of Americans exiting high school can’t even afford to pay a rent on their own Yet we have illegals on welfare and housing assistance getting it all for free….

@niemeyer_dave @IMakeDealzBigly @WallStreetApes Did you just stumble home from a bar? I asked where you could find the free "house, pond and acreage" you mentioned, like everyone had access to it. You responded incoherently, maybe you spend too much time at the bar.

Not sure where tiny towns comes in to play here. But if we want to talk about you, sure, why not. Yes, small town, low jobs/low pay, that has always been true. It's never NOT been true. This is how bedroom communities formed, far enough to be out of the city, close enough to drive to work. Young people worked for farmers in the summer, make bank and save it. YES, prices are out of control now. It's true. We all know it. Today, NO one who works for a living can prosper, everyone is barely hanging on. But what is also true, is that many children don't want to live by rules and expectation and would prefer to suffer than live in the back of the vehicle and tik-tak about it than follow decorum.

@IMakeDealzBigly @MattKicksBalls @WallStreetApes What percentage of Gen Z lives out of cars, and what percentage of Gen Z own multiple homes? Get the same percentages for the Boomers. Boomers broke decorum, we're trying to re-establish it. Before dying, pls don't blow your families generational wealth on cruises & time-shares

@niemeyer_dave @IMakeDealzBigly @WallStreetApes Small towns don't generally have large employers or great paying jobs, cities generally do. Even in small towns though it's happening. Rents in my tiny town have easily tripled since Covid. In 2019 you could rent a studio down the street for $450/month- now it's 500/week.

@IMakeDealzBigly @MattKicksBalls @WallStreetApes You definitely don't seem to get it. I think you should realize the answer is within your own statement- "not an option for everyone", and then realize you just seemed to have overestimated the # of people it's an option for. It simply isn't an option for most.

Hence the opening statement "Not an option for everyone". A parent GIVING their hard earned money by which they may have had to work two jobs to earn and do it every dammed day for 30 /40 years is NOT the same thing as allowing their child(ren) contribute a tiny portion of their paycheck & pay for their own food in order to keep their old bedroom. And nothing could be further from the truth from Gen X, as they swung the polar opposite of their boomer parents, coddling and negotiating where ther should have been hard lines in the sand.

I didn't take it but most people in the small town i live in did. We were a tight knit community- I got vocal in early 2021 that the shots were harmful. In turn I got the label of "crazy conspiracy theorist" and now, 5 years later & even though I was right, the label stuck.

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
