🚨Always watch out for the word ‘framework’ The King’s Speech includes an Energy Framework Bill. (There will be others) This is how so much new law is being made now in the UK Parliament passes a broad framework, without specifics … and then the real rules come later through Statutory Instruments, with no proper debate or real scrutiny and rarely a vote in Parliament. The rules on targets, standards and obligations are added later and made by Quangos like the Climate Change Committee and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. So once this passes, it’s not just a law! It’s a mechanism to keep changing the rules quietly. … You know, so you dont kick up a fuss. Very democratic 💣
