I loaned my cousin ₦4 million in 2023 with no interest. She was to refund ₦111,200 every month for 36 months into a fixed account. She did absolutely well and never missed a single month. When she fully paid everything back, I was so proud of her integrity that I gifted her ₦1 million out of it for keeping her promise. I took the remaining ₦3 million and gave it to another cousin of mine from my paternal side. Since finishing NYSC, he’s been idle with no work, so I gave it to him so he could start something. When this girl found out I gave the remaining ₦3M to my other cousin, she became furious. She started accusing me of doing "eye service" and being useless. She said why couldn't I give her the ₦3M and give the NYSC grad ₦1M instead? She then threatened to return the ₦1M gift so I’d "know I didn't give her anything." I told her no problem, sent her my other cousin's account details, and told her to send it there. Yesterday, she forwarded a receipt of ₦290k and said she’d pay the balance later.
