The decibel level of F 18 hornet at 50 feet doing a low pass is around 130 dB. The threshold of pain for human hearing is 110 dB. There were children clutching their heads and crying after this.

A low Blue Angels flyover this morning during "Breakfast with the Blues" caused quite the stir at Pensacola Beach. It sent hats, tents and chairs flying as people were surprised by what they just witnessed. "I've been coming for 10 years and I've never seen a pass like that."

This is becoming a “thing” and whilst it may seem cool, the margins are fine and it will at some point end badly. This isn’t me being a spoilsport, it’s me being a realist. The first pass is cool, dramatic, and safe. The second one doesn’t tick all those boxes.
Undoubtedly these are some of the most skilled aviators in the world, but it only takes a momentary lapse to become a disaster. It’s not dramatic, it’s dangerous.

@SchoolOfBritain We will live plenty long enough to get a pension. Life expectancy is going up so that necessitates the pension age to rise. But plan your finances to get more than state pension.

No one born after 1970 is going to see their state pension in any meaningful way.
A lot of people are going to be reminded, in a very harsh manner, why we had such tight-knit families and communities prior to the welfare state. Soon we will be living in a post-welfare state world.

@DomSeaward They also almost never went to university. It was the Gen-xers like me that benefitted from no fees (and a grant), relatively low house prices and interest rates, increasing personal allowance. I don't mind the rise to 68 either. It will make my private pension even more valuable

Raising the pension age to 68 😆 they want you to drop , people in certain construction industries have no chance of working till 68 . Best to get their pension right up them and put your own cash away so that rank rotten tax man can’t take it .

@bryandocherty80 No, they get a job they can do. If you are still just a labourer at that age, you should find something easier. Or maybe start moving up. Stay in construction but become a supervisor or site manager. This is the normal route. People don't stay at the bottom of the ladder.
