I started this project - turning my Batec into the Ghost Rider Hell Cycle for an upcoming #cosplay just over 3 months ago. Finally, at last I should be able to take it out for a shakedown cruise on the #wheelchair this weekend (albeit without full lighting kit)

@timboxall better sleep last night went out like light 💡 Snow on the mountains here in Scotland - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 it came over the radio that people are clearing the snow in highland area . Chilly 🥶 summer .

@brigadoon1700 Yup, it's horrible! I'm fortunate insofar as I have an indoor chair (super nimble & narrower) and an outdoor chair (chonky & hard-wearing) which sits by the front door, so I can keep cleaning to a minimum!

@timboxall I was just thinking about this it took me ages to clean off fog poo from my bike tyre as I have to have my folding e-bike inside temp flat - I have wash disinfect it . I thought as I woke this morning how wheel chair users cope .

Message to dog owners from a #wheelchair user please, please pick up your dogs poop! It's nasty not to anyway, but for us it's not like treading in mess, our wheels track through it - it's right next to our hands! Some of use even propel with our thumbs on the tyre (see pic) and you can imagine how ghastly that is! 🐕 💩 #disability #disabled

@curiouslast1 Able to wheel to the corner shop, but that's all I can do - it's left me with a killer headache and my already busted shoulder worse. Still, can't have a cuppa without milk! 😂

@timboxall Yep it’s like the batteries have been pulled out. I hope you feel a little stronger today.

Lots of folks - particularly able-bodied - equate the fatigue suffered by those with #MS, #CFS, or similar #disability, to tiredness. Want to know what true fatigue is like? I've just been slumped in my #wheelchair, nearly falling out, barely able to push, banging into walls with my eyesight blurred. It took me 5 minutes to type this, my fingers won't work properly. That's not tiredness - it's true fatigue, and it doesn't go away with a kip. So when we say we're fatigued, please don't imagine it's just being sleepy, it's utterly, devastatingly debilitating.

@possumpraxis Indeed, the shaking and fragility are so debilitating.

For me a major part of my illness feels like the exhaustion after exercising well-past your capacity, the shaking and fragile feeling except I get it from just trying to sit upright

@timboxall A good description of what our bodies feel like 🙂 I do, however, think it's beholden on us as #pwME to use more precise lingo than fatigued, tired etc. I usually say flu-level muscle weakness, legs can't hold me up, muscles burn & feel like jelly. Ppl seem to understand these.

@timboxall It can be absolutely crushing. It’s day in, day out too. Trying to pace seems impossible, and then when you think you have the energy to do something, you pay for it straight after.

So it seems Wes Streeting is resigning, likely manoeuvring for a leadership challenge. God help we #disabled. It's no secret he's right-wing, and vigorously supportive of harsh benefit reforms negatively affecting us. If he gets in, it'll ramp up the daily fear we have that's inherent to our daily life. People are saying he's subtly tacked left in the last few weeks likely to appeal to a broader section of #Labour members. I call that disingenuous. Were he to get in, he'll pivot so fast rightward that he'll get friction burns. I'm afraid. Really afraid. I'm praying he's as unpopular with members as rumour goes.

@timboxall Like being coated with cement left to dry, then asked to wade through quick sand whilst attempting to solve impossible sums. It is not tiredness. My sister use to say 'wait till you have kids', had them, fatigue is not the same.

@timboxall Was going to message you but seen your tweet! Just went down to check your bin stall was locked after you saying you struggle if it's been filled by non-flat residents as I have a feeling that may happen again, I'll let you guess why🤦‍♀️ Idk if it's just very stiff or locked tho!x

@RoseOfSeraph So true, being disabled means a life living in fear, always afraid your fibbcusk/financial lifeline will be torn away at a whim. If Streeting gets in, the fear level will, in the immortal words of Spinal Tap, go up to eleven.

@timboxall Agreed. Those Mandelson photos are going to follow him around like a bad smell, think it might be a bit of a turn off. Here's hoping.
