“Time in the market beats timing the market.” You’ve heard this a million times before and it’s true. Investors trying to get in and out of names at the exact right moment will lose over the long run. My portfolio is currently up 20% since Monday lows. I didn’t add more cash or do anything special. I just held onto what I already owned for months/years and watched. If I capitulated (panic sold) last week, thinking that I’d have a better buying opportunity this week, I’d currently be feeling like shit. That’s why I hold my high-conviction, long-term investments and don’t let short term macro conditions impact my strategy.
