@timcs1968 That would be a VERY bad idea indeed. Yes the calculations still hold true. Lets say you have 32 years in 1995 post rollback. And a lease was £12k per year reduction in pay. Taking it to retirement would cost you 32/80 x £12k = £4,800 every year of your retirement. Dont do it!

NEW: Appalling performance from @NHSBSA 👇 60,000 NHS RPSS statements still outstanding. NHSBSA said they were meant to start coming out in April 2024, the *statutory* deadline was Oct 2024 Thank you again @drlukeevans for highlighting the mess around pensions admin and AA tax

The UK has a lower number of qualified Doctors and Nurses than most peer nations The NHS is becoming less productive & is using a greater number of of less qualified & skilled staff Additionally there is a higher attrition rate & failure to retain experience, knowledge & skills

@wesstreeting If you want consultants to do even more work, then please sort out this outrageous pension tax trap. I have received a massive pension tax bill meaning I am working for free for 3 months. Why would I do extra work? It is demoralising.

@goldstone_tony We are being let down by HM Treasury & HMG by having to take so much time & effort try and mitigate massive pension tax bills when we have no control over pension input. I cannot believe we are putting up with this. It is state sponsored theft. @wesstreeting @RachelReevesMP

@ProfDerek666 I’m sorry but you have totally missed the point. The work is there. So much work. So much illness. There hasn’t been the investment needed to provide the facilities to care for all there’s patients. You’d be very welcome to come and see for yourself.

@goldstone_tony @nhs_pensions I find these pension related problems very onerous and worrying. I never used to have to worry about it, but now it feels like I need to commit significant time to something I really struggle to understand. Collaeagues are talking of early retirement again.

1/3 NEW: Tommorow @nhs_pensions will send 57,000 "Remedial Pension Saving Statements" to members potentially affected by #AnnualAllowance & "McCloud". Stacked together they would tower above Big Ben! Not everyone that should will get one, however, as some need manual calcs

Wholeheartedly agree. It is imperative that he listens to the clinicians who have been working through the past decade. We don't need fancy schemes. We don't need anything complex. We do need a new contract and better funding. I hope he's listening.

1/ So @nhs_pensions were meant to update TRS overnight to 23-24 which *SHOULD* show post rollback service for those affected by McCloud... so far so good on the front screen
